Anyone else thinking about putting a few of this awesome beer into the cellar? A friend said it would lose some complexity with age but I'm not so sure.

Only way to find out for sure is to give it a try. The price is definitely right for a test so if you can pick up several, make it happen.

I'm going to cellar one to see what happens. For me, the beer was more of a barrel aged stout first and a coffee beer second. The coffee was there for sure, but it took a back seat to those fabulous, peppery rye notes from the High West barrels. On the other hand, the beer was quite smooth to begin with (especially at 12% ABV), so cellaring may confer few benefits, but it can't hurt to find out.

As per usual, coffee fades over time. If that isn't your favorite aspect of the beer or you wouldn't miss it, cellar away! I'm sure this beer will evolve over a few years at 12% and hold up just fine.

Coffee sometimes turns into a green bell pepper flavor and aroma in some beers with age..

If thats your type of veggie.. roll on!

I agree with other sentiments here.

PS: I presume the Westfield thing was an autocorrect?
