Lagunitas Willetized Coffee Stout

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but is Willetized replacing High Westified this year? Or might they both be released?

 

So you bought a sixer? what was the price? the website shows draft only at this point.

 

Bought 2 sixers no limits where I got. Coulda had more. Hard not to buy it all at $1.99 a btl

 

Couldn't find any High Westified in Indiana, hoping to have better luck with Willetized.

 

Glad I wasn't the only one who searched and searched for High Westified here and always came up short.

 

That's a ridiculous price! let us know what you think of them.

 

Found the new batch of 2017 High West-ified at Total Wine for $11.99/six pack. 12.4% abv.

 

A local shop gets everything from them, including a decent amount of Waldo's. I asked about high westified, and he acted like I was speaking German. He said he had not heard of it, and wondered why his distributor had not given him any. He is a big BA stout guy. I thought it was just my area, but clearly tht is not true.

Yeah I think I hit like 5 stores in the Indy area when High Westified first came out and only 1 said they got any and it was only a case and it was gone the day they got it.

 

I can't see your pictures, not sure if that's just my computer or if no one else can see em. Would love to actually see what it looks like this year.

Also - anyone know why on their website the Willett BA Stout is listed as only being on tap?

That beer, Imperial Stout in bourbon barrels, is released only on tap. The bottles coming are Imperial Coffee stout in Rye barrels.

 

Ahhh gotchya. Still seems weird they don't have it on their website, or Im just too dumb to find it. Plenty of evidence in this thread that it is being released though. Really hope I can score some this year!

 

Those images don't load for me either but there are lots of pictures of the 2017 High-Westified (both the beer and the bottle) on Untappd.

 

Any sightings on the east coast??

 

I'm still learning how to post images, but it is true that people have posted pictures of the 2017 HW on Untappd.

I just tasted the 2016 and 2017 HW side-by-side. The coffee in the 2017 is more present; the coffee has mostly faded from the 2016, but personally I'm not getting any off-flavors of stale coffee or green pepper. The rye is perhaps a notch spicier and more present in the 2017. The 2017 is nicely balanced and ready to drink, and tastes pretty much identical to how I remember fresh 2016.

The 2016 has a pleasant hint of oxidation, but it's holding up really well.

 

Looking forward to grabbing this..if its half as good as high westified ill be happy

 

I checked BeerMenus too late. The local bottle shop blew through 4-5 cases this weekend. I returned home empty handed.

 

Is anybody seeing 2017 high west just released in the last week or so. It's resurfacing!
