Lagunitas Willettized Stout

One case at Empire Wine in Kingston, only a 6 pack left last night. Was allocated on delivery

 

Chestnut Hill Wegmans has it on the shelf. $11.99 per 6-pack.

 

That price point is absurd! Heading there during lunch today, did they have a good amount left?

I enjoyed High Westified last year, curious how this stacks up. Did you try any yet?

 

maybe 2 or 3 6-packs left on the shelf after i grabbed a couple around 7pm. not sure if they had more in the back though.

 

Just picked up 2 6ers at Wegmans Chestnut Hill. There is at least a case left.

 

cbc newton has it, but it's limited to 2 bottles per person. Still only like $2 a bottle

 

Thank you Dave, grabbed some there today. Didn't look like a limit, had plenty in the cooler. Sipping on it now -- like it a lot, especially for the price point!

FYI, they also had Epic Triple Barrel on the beer shelf in back. Thought I missed this one as most of my usual haunts were out, so happy to find it!

 

On tap at Brewer's Fork in Charlestown currently.

 

12 per 6pk at University station Wegmans. I left one pack remaining, but they also seem to be replenishing it from a mystery source... A couple days back I went and struck out, but saw the empty row and asked if they had any more (they said no, it'd be on the shelf above in the cage).

Last year was the best 2 bucks per bottle I've spent on a stout, so, hoping for more excellence this year!

 

Actually, we're currently pouring the 2016 Willett Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout, which was part of last year's One Hitter Series. I believe it is just their regular imperial stout, no coffee added. This isn't the same beer as the Willettized Coffee Stout you're currently seeing in six packs. Still damn tasty though.

 

I got one at Wegmans Northborough, but I had to ask for it. There was no space for it in the shelf, and it looked like they had no intention of putting it out.

I’m a little confused though.... how can they charge so little for a 12.6% barrel aged beer?

 

No idea, though I saw somewhere else speculation they could charge less for this because they use the name of the distillery (High West last year, Willett this year) so prominently on labels and perhaps they get a good price on barrels, help with the costs, etc. due to that. I don't know if that's BS or some speculation, but just passing along something I read that I thought made sense...

 

Haven't seen this in Worcester yet, and last time I was at Wegman's Northborough they had no idea. Is it worth nearly an hour round trip?
