Any tips on Bars/stores to hit up while on Vacation this week? Stayed up there last summer but didn't find anything worth bragging about (also didn't look very hard). I appreciate any input on Bottle Shops or bars to check out. and Local breweries that may not be popular but are worth checking out! thanks guys cheers!
I visit family in Lake George relatively often and would definitely recommend 163 Taproom right in the village. Might not completely blow you away, but they have a great selection for the area and may have a couple specialty offerings. Adirondack brewing is few blocks away -- they're pretty popular, although I personally can't see why (their beer is rather disappointing IMO). Hops and Barley is my brother's go-to bottle shop, though that is a few miles south in Queensbury. And then there are a few small breweries also south - Common Roots being the best that I've been to. (also this should be in the Mid-Atlantic forum)
Getting ready to put the Warrensburg suggestions to the test. Just picked up 200 top neck clams to bring with me so I'm both hungry and thirsty now.
