Looks like kegs are going to start showing up around DFW and FW today...always been a big fan of Temptress, loved Raspberry Temptress (although could have used a bit more Raspberries, IMHO), and really looking forward to what they have done with this incarnation and seeing how the sweetness from the milk stout combines with the heat from the chilies...

    Thoughts?

Looks legit, they are having a tasting this saturday at the brewery. Might go check it out. Chillies + milk stout seems counter productive but i am excited to give it a shot! Tempress as a base beer is going to take them far. Maybe some barrel aging wouldnt hurt for the mole version...

This version has Cinnamon and Cacao too, not just chilies. With any luck, they barrel aged a keg of it for sale at the brewery this weekend.

Just tapped it up at work today. Pretty tasty stuff...I'd like to tap up our last keg of Senorita (while it's a different style and flavoring) to try them side by side.

I was hoping for a little more spice but I did enjoy this stuff and it still has that kinda creamy milk stout texture. Very much along the lines of Bomb/Bible Belt.

    Can I go on a mini-rant? I'm going on a mini-rant.

Brewers: stop calling beers with chocolate and cinammon and chiles "Mole" beers. They're NOTHING like mole. They taste NOTHING like mole. New Belgium Cocoa Mole was delicious -- but it had absolutely nothing in common with mole. Ska Autumnal Mole is also pretty good, and also taste ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like mole. I guarantee you that Lakewood's Mole Temptress tastes nothing like mole. Have you ever eaten mole? Have you ever thought, "hmmm, this tastes exactly like a mix of chocolate and cinammon and chile?" No, you haven't, because mole doesn't taste like that. Mole poblano famously has over 20 ingredients, and it's ridiculously deep and complex and completely unrelated to any mole beer ever made. So please, just stop.

    /rant

    Phew. I needed that.

Totally agree with the broader point but I think we all understand it's Mole inspired. If you want to get pissed at brewers using less than concise descriptions start with all the f-ing hybrid styles out there. Black Rye Belgo Kolsch 4EVER!!!

Whoa calm down broten. If its as heavy and spicey as I make my mole, I'm not sure I would like an exact representation in a stout. It would be acid reflux city all day and night!

Lots of cinnamon flavor and I get the chile flavor as it goes down my throat! Great beer will probably get another growler filled if I can.

If anyone is going to the brewery this weekend for the Mole release, I would love a Mole snifter to add to my collection! Let me know!

Anyone know where/when this is being tapped? I was planning to make it to C&G on Wednesday but it didn't happen. I really don't want to miss out on it.

Flying Saucer Ft Worth has it right now. It's pretty good, not as much heat as I was expecting.

Had it tonight at the Moth to pre-game before the amazing Mavs game! Didn't get a ton of heat, either...but a good bit of vanilla and cinnamon...would love a touch more heat, but that just splitting hairs...quite liked it, though!

C&G had no limits on the growler fills, give them a call and see if it's still there.

Thanks for the tip. I figure they would be out (everyone else seems to have killed it really quick) but I just called and it's still on if anyone is looking.

For those looking, WF Addison has two more kegs of it, and will be tapping them on Tuesday for an event that will also feature glasses...they were unsure on what time when I asked...

BTW, the beer is quite good in my opinion, huge cinnamon and sweet vanilla notes up front with just a touch of chilies on the finish...

The tour today was ridiculous. Mole and Raspberry Bourbon Temptress. The Mole was pretty heavy on the cinnamon which I liked. They should keep making Temptress variants. Goddamn.

No arguments there. I don't think I want a true mole beer either. Anyway, enough of my ranting and thread-derailing. Sounds like the beer that birthed this thread is quite tasty, and I'd love to try it. Send some to Houston, please!
