So I've been getting more into lambic over the last year and a half or so, and want to start pursuing some worth-while bottles. The question is I really have NO idea what certain things trade for, especially relative to what I have to offer. That said, some top wants of mine are A&T, Hommage, Framboos, Fou, St. Lam, LP series, OGV, or maybe even simple shelf Geuze... really open to recommendations as well regarding what is worth going after vs not, good years vs bad, etc. Examples of some things I could offer up are: BB4D BBBW KRE BASS BAVSS Brandy Numbskull Rye Numbskull BeerGeek Speedway Kona Speedway Nutulhu Backyard Rye Vanilla Rye BCBS (quantity) BCBCS (quantity) BBPT5 (quantity) Blue Bbls GM, BT V014 V015 CW16 CW17 I'm sure some of them may be a huge stretch and not so much for others... if anyone has any ratio recommendations, completed trades with the bottles I mentioned, or just general thoughts on the best way to make the most educated offers I can, it'd be much appreciated. Cheers!
You got plenty of ammo. I would recommend getting Fou fresh and not going after vintages, but that is just my opinion. Especially if you are willing to ship international you can do better trading stouts for lambics. I am not saying it wouldn't happen here, but I am saying your bottles would go further.
Regarding the vintage thing, do plunge into procuring as much vintage Cantillon Lou Pepe as possible. The variants retain their fruitiness a remarkably long time and the gueue just gets better with age. Welcome to a lifetime of addiction. ;-)
I´m not looking for anymore trades right now but just to give you an example from an intl. point of view: I´d happily trade for any 6 from your list with a mix of 6 Cantillon, including Fou and LP. It´s pretty much what I usually do unless it´s for something special. Hommage, A&T and Framboos would be harder to get, even internationally. My guess is that you´d have to give up multiple bottles for any one of those. Personally, I just drink any whales that land in my boat. Keep an eye out for De Cam, Boon, Oud Beersel and Brekeriet, they all have great lambics.
