Lambics: Am I missing something?

    You are correct. If you are in neighborhood bar in Belgium, most are drinking Jupiler, Stella, or Maes pilsners, as Euro pilsners are about 70% of the beer sold in Belgium. What we would call Craft is about 30%. Sours are only 1 or 2%, and that is the Lambics, Gueuze, Flanders Red and the Browns.

    That is exactly my point... If you go to a "typical" bar over there they will have Juplier Maas a trappist or two and maybe a few micro type options (LaChouffe Saison Dupont, Rodenbach ect). Maybe a Boon lambic but very seldomly have I found Cantillon or DF outside of a speciality beer bar. I was shocked by this on my first trip over there. I was expecting the streets to be over flowing with Gueuze over there and that's not the case. It's around don't get me wrong but you have to seek it out. It doesn't bother me too much though cause I am very content having an fresh Orval/Westmalle/Rodenbach at a small pub. In many ways I see that more of a typical Belgian beer drinking experience.
