I was going to write Guinness Draught when I saw this. I've had the Extra, and it still is decent, but this was my go-to beer of the 1990s, and I had it last night and was not impressed at all. This was no surprise, really, but it was a disappointment.

I'd also add Lindemans fruit lambics, which was another go-to for the 1990s, but which I've had in the last couple years and while I still think they are decent, I find them a touch too sweet. They are just not as interesting as I once thought them.

Pumpkin beers in general. Couldn't get enough a year or so ago. Now I can't stand them

The Foreign Extra Stout @ 7.5% is great stuff. Sadly I seem to have drank my last bottle of it. That's another old fiend I'm lamenting, but hoping to see again.

I recently found that I didn't enjoy Yuengling in bottles or cans anymore, but on tap I can drink it.

Guinness Foreign Extra is tasty. I don't care for their other stout varieties.

Shiner Cheer. I couldn't wait for this to come out around the holidays. This year i bought a 6 pack and only drank half of one. On to better things.

Humm I thought it was easy to understand. I still drink a AAL lager every once and a while to "know" what it tastes like but I do not miss them. I know the style of the beers...So to be clear the only beer I miss are those that cannot be had.

I mentioned the stock ale because I missed it, but recently got to have it again. THE SA lager I can get 24/7 but do not drink it regularly. So I was trying to be OT, the old beer I miss, I try to revisit. Otherwise I lament those no longer available.

That makes more sense; by it being a different paragraph I didn't assume you were suggesting Yuengling was an AAL, but wanted to point out the difference just in case. I apologize, my pedantry must be showing.

no worries I suck at writing , grammar, and spelling. So I seem stupid. Trust me I am not, great in math physics, chemistry etc.
just suck at writing clear concise paragraphs, always argued English was a stupid subject with teachers, You can guess how that turned out. lol. I have to edit allot because I can out think my typing.

as my profile points out I am old and been drinking a long time.
Read into that as you will.
    cheers!

Sam Adam's Octoberfest...back years ago (like 10-15 years ago) I used to wait with so much anticipation for that beer to come out and buy it by the case. Now it tastes like a toasted mess to me. I can still drink it sure and it's not horrible...but I used to put that one on a pedestal.

The "is Michelob a good beer" thread sent me to a part of the beer store I hadn't been in, for a pretty long while.

The sixer of Michelob I bought, I drank 3 of, used 2 in some righteous chili, and made my step-son drink the last one instead of the FW Double Jack (my last one, at the time) he was reaching for...

It was drinkable, but I won't be getting any more. It was just kind of blah. I remember Mich as having a really sharp but pleasant bitterness and some hoppy aroma notes but I didn't get, really, any of that at all. I guess my palate has changed.

BTW I have had the same experience with the OP's example, Yuengling, also, though I never thought Yuengling had any hop presence or bitterness to speak of. Same thing, unfortunately, with Shiner Bock which 15 years ago I used to think was bursting with beer flavor. Makes me sort of glad i can't find another old friend, National Premium, out here.

(At $7.70, the Michelob wasn't even a lot cheaper than some of the cheaper craft 6 packs btw)

Guinness Draught in the cans. I used to pick up a 4-pack of cans pretty well every weekend I enjoyed it so much but lately I find it to have an extremely light body in the can, almost to the point of feeling like water. Either the beer got shittier (which I somehow doubt) or the more substantial stouts I have had in recent years have developed my palate to the point of no return. I've been looking for Guinness on tap for quite awhile just to see if there is any difference between that and the canned stuff. I've heard it's quite different on tap in Ireland but I have my doubts on any differences in the U.S./Canada.

New Belgium Fat Tire. In the late 90's we used to drive out to Yuma (from San Diego) to get it and man was it good. These days not so much............
