I bought 2 cans of the last batch. Drank one right away, very good but not great. Forgot I had the other can & found it like 2-3 weeks later & it was phenomenal.

This is the complete opposite of my experience. Was not a fan after the first few days. But man those first few days...

Anybody know if they're putting Major Tom on tap today too?

From their IG: "on draft starting today at 11 a.m.! Only 25 cases of cans available, but plenty of kegs to last us through the weekend."

I stopped in today. Scene was an amusing mix of beer geeks and laptop campers. I had only had Birds of a Feather so far, so I got a tasting flight. I liked the Werewolves porter a lot, nice creamy mouthfeel and good balance of roastiness without being sweet or relying on flavorings. Sound and Vision, their cranberry sour, also grew on me enough to pick up a 4 pack. I'm excited to try Major Tom, Lucid, and Pressure Drop which are the other cans I picked up.

coming into MT fresh tonight. Lot more distinctive flavors. Quite nice. Green's cousin maybe a stretch, this is more straightforward galaxy, but it is quite good. Leaving my mouth watering.

I think I might still like Lucid Nonsense more, though. Maybe it's not de-facto better, but there's a few galaxy bombs out there. Lucid Nonsense is pretty unique in today's environment.

Loving this round Major Tom. To me its not as strikingly bitter as batch 1 which I really really liked. This one is soft smooth and very juicy. ALthough the bitterness has decreased, the harshness I got from batch 1 is completely gone.

I don't get the Treehouse comparison on this one to be honest...to me its very much a Lamplighter pineapple bomb. Every newer brewery has one and the great ones put a twist on it...congress st has the trillium bite, green has the juicyfruit bubblegum, lamplighter has this wonderful dry pithiness.

Very happy with my purchase...wish I ordered a few more.

Also, I haven't had one of their kettle sours since I tasted on at Venture Cafe before they were even open. Had the cranberry one at the brewery and was diggin it. I'm not very well versed in kettle sours but I can see it being a nice replacement to feeling the need to crack a $20 wild ale on a random evening.

Totally agree. The “bag-o’-hop-pellets” roughness that I got in early opened cans of batch 1 is nowhere to be found. This tastes a lot more like the cans I opened a few weeks later when the beer peaked for me. I wonder if they let this batch sit a little longer than the last one before packaging.

This beer is a terrific showcase for Galaxy hops and doesn’t try to be any more than that, which is great if you love Galaxy as much as I do.

I’d love to try a “Colonel Tom” with the same dry, clean base and an 8.5% ABV.

Just cracked my first Major Tom. I really liked it, lots of citrus and peach, with more of a bitter backbone that I am starting to think of as the Lamplighter signature. They integrate the bitterness well without it being harsh. Very easy to drink.

Never had Green, but I think this compares very well to Congress Street.

How busy is it on weekday afternoons? I was thinking of swinging through there tomorrow.

Also, their website says there's a fair amount of beers on tap right now. Is it usually accurate? Last time I was there there were maybe 4 - 6 taps running, and I think only one IPA (Stardust?)...granted it was packed and it was a Saturday night.

That low of beer options hasnt happened in quite some time - we tend to get blasted around the holidays and that can account for the limitations sometimes - this time though plenty of beers, 10-12, and multiple IPA's. Afternoons get busy around 3 usually.

nice distribution list yesterday - werewolves, birds, rabbits all out at redstones & others.

anyone had moondance? not a ton of reviews yet. probably gonna snag it as I'm a fan of all things lamplighter, but would love to hear from some pro's...

Drinking it right now alongside National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

It might be the best milk stout I've ever had. The mouthfeel is insane, so creamy. Taste is bordering on too sweet, but rides the line nicely...if you picked it up, enjoy...if you didn't, go do that.

Can anyone compare Lawyers Guns and Honey to Cutting Tiles/Artaic from Trillium? Also found it funny these were both released on the same day both after decent hiatuses.

Hoping for more Major Tom soon, really kicking myself for not getting any last time. Does anyone recall the time between brews from the first time to December?

My favorite beer by them. A lot softer and balanced than cutting tiles. Smooth and bubblegummy. Softness and tropical taste closer to treehouse than trillium. I’m pretty pissed at lamplighter for dropping this during a month I’m trying to stay dry.
