This was my experience with LGH as well. The smaller batch sizes of Lamplighter suit my tastes.

I will attempt to buy LGH solely for the name. Lamplighter makes some tasty beer and their naming game is top notch.

It was brewery only and has long since gone.

They still list is as on draft though

Very excited to finally get to check them out this Saturday. I'll add that we're going mid day on Saturday and have no idea what to expect. But we don't have to park or anything. Any other breweries around them that have popped up recently? Haven't lived in the area for quite some time. Always a fan of CBC down the street.

You don’t hear very much about them (at least on here) but Aeronaut isn’t too far from there just over in Somerville.

My experience at both Lamplighter and Aeronaut is that they have decent lines on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe with the crappy weather and the Pats game later that night it will be a bit better?

Luckily CBC is right up the street if Lamplighter has a line. Aeronaut you're kind of screwed, as Union is about a half mile away, not terrible, but also not awesome if it's cold and rainy. You could always Uber too.

You could always do Lamplighter/Meadhall/CBC...there's also Lord Hobo, but their tap list has been kind of "meh" lately, and if I recall correctly prices are still decently high.

Other option is it's a quick Uber to Davis Square, and Five Horses always has a stellar tap list. Right now they are running four Trillium drafts, 2013 BCBW, 2015/2017 BCBS (when they had four you could have them in a flight, might still be able to with three), Lagunitas Willetized, and just a solid overall local tap list (Mystic, Lamplighter...etc. right now).

If you were super ambitious, the Nightshift, Bone Up, Down the Road, Mystic, Idle Hands run is super easy, all within a few miles of each other. In the case of Nightshift/Bone Up/Down the Road all within a mile of each other. Probably about a 15 minute Uber ride from Lamplighter.

Word on the streets is Big D doesn't want other beer to compete with his house brand.

Hey thanks for the heads up! Yea we're going to Uber into town from my buddies. I'll probably skip on Lord Hobo as I agree with the list. Used to LOVE going there when we lived in East Watertown. Hoping to catch CBC as its been a while. We may not make it up to nightshift but who knows. Also love Five Horses. Really want to check the new Trill Garden out but that's a heck of a ride.

Anyone seen Pressure Drop in cans anywhere from Cambridge out to Worcester? Looking for that one in particular without much luck. Will be heading in to Lamplighter tomorrow afternoon but it's not listed for Crowlers any longer.

Thanks in advance for any scouting you can offer.

The new Trill garden space in rosi was okay. It’s cool but basically just a great hall filled with tables with a bar to buy your beer at. I wasn’t that wowed by it to be honest.

I can't argue with this. It's a really good use of the space that would be empty otherwise. I prefer it to Trillium Canton, though you can only order full pours in Rozzie (half pours are a nice benefit in Canton).

I went to the beer garden at the Greenway a bunch of times over the summer/fall, great atmosphere.

But Roslindale is too far of a hike for me from Somerville to be worth it. Especially when Five Horses routinely has Trillium on tap, and those pours are 10-12 oz.

Half pours of Trillum (or smaller pours like 10 - 12 oz.) are a must since most of their beers are higher ABVs. How much is a "full pour" at the Roslindale location?

I love the beer garden in Rozzie but it's also walkable for me. I agree the space is a bit odd, and it has everything to do with the city. It's a historic building so there's only so much businesses can do to it

Agree that they did great with the space as far as it is just a great hall essentially, just to me wasn’t worth the drive from Brighton.

I won't argue with the prices, but I must be missing something if a tap list that currently includes Tilquin draft, Alexander draft, KBS, Parabola, Sibling Maker, Avery Tweak, Deconstructed Bomb Vanilla, and Deconstructed Bomb Chili (not to mention *5* barrel aged old ales/barley wines) is considered "meh".

Interesting. That's a far better list than when I was there the last two times. The last time I was there Schlenkerla's Helles was the only thing on the menu worth ordering (amazing beer though).
