Tried my first Lawyers, Guns, and Honey today. Thought it was very good, but definitely very dry and crisp.

I’m also curious if they reformulated Werewolves as it looks like the abv went from 6.5 to 7.5%. I really liked the 6.5% batch, nice creamy feel to it and just a touch of sweetness to bring out chocolate flavors.

I had both batches and experienced the same thing as you. It continues to prove my batch one theory of local brewers putting out amazing beers batch one and struggling to match the original profile on subsequent iterations.

 

Thanks for the insight on LG&H. I missed batch one but was underwhelmed by the most recent batch (at least the first can. maybe my expectations were too high).

I know you were talking about lg&h, but I’m curious if you (or anyone) feel the same way about Major Tom. I only had batch 2 but I thought it was terrific. Does anyone who had both care to comment?

I lump Major Tom into my comment. Batch 1 was a completely different beer than batch 2. I preferred batch 1 hands down.

 

Both batches of Major Tom were excellent in my opinion.

 

I thought the latest batch of LG&H was solid. My only issue was the honey was a bit mellow compared to other honey infused beers like Cutting Tiles and Hopslam.

 

If you are a Major Tom fan, I think you will be pretty happy with the next beer we do a prerelease for. I won't say too much, but think about tall North American mountains.
