Article shows the depth and quality of local brewing. And new beer options are always welcome !

The owners ofFunck’s Restaurantin Palmyra are planning a similar restaurant in Leola in the former home of Batten’s Corner. The new casual dining restaurant at 363 W. Main St. would feature more than 100 draft beers as well as a new outside seating, according to Alan Funck, who owns the restaurant with his brother, Matt.

Thanks for this. Don't get to your part of the state all that often but it's nice to have some sense of the developments there.

Good news for CKW. I didn't want to badmouth them on here, but last time I went there, the beer was awful. Something was off with their yeast or temp control, because all the beers had a nasty, fusel-like aftertaste last time I went. I figured they'd close soon, but this will hopefully help them be successful. The new brewer has been there since May 4, so the beers on now should all be his. I'll have to give them another look. Judging by the asses that Iron Hill constantly puts in the seats, this should work out well for them. Cool space, good snacks, good local wine, the beer was the only thing lacking.

I never had an issue with CKW, but it's also been 3-4 months since I've been there. I always enjoyed the beer.
