Last minute change of plan to our next Deutsch beercation (July 14 to 18) due to engineering work on our planned rail journey

Big Dave has given the revised option of either Landshuter Brauhaus AND Wittman, both in Landshutt or one of these pair then Mullerbrau in Neuotting

Anyone been to any of these and can advise the best combo?

    Prost

I haven't been to the Landshut breweries' taps, though I have been to the city twice. The beers I tried have been decent.

In May, our group was going to hit Mullerbrau in Neuötting, Graminger Weissbräu in Altötting (actually just south in Graming), and Bräu im Moos in Moos, among other stops. Never made it to Muller, so I can't comment on that. But if you haven't yet been to Graminger, go! It was that good! That was our first stop of the day, and it was by far the best. Very nice beers! But don't even consider Bräu im Moos. Terrible beers, but a very nice beer garden. Truly a waste of time.....

When our day was done, we wished we had stayed put at Graminger.

Cheers, will look into Graminger - all depends on how difficult it is to get to by public transport!

And just to be clear, the reason I brought up Graminger was because it was approximately equal distance from the Altötting Bahnhof as Müllerbräu is, though in the opposite direction. Graminger is 1.5 km to the south from the train stop. Nueötting's Müllerbräu is to the north of the bahnhof, perhaps 3 km total between the two breweries/taps. Half of our group walked it to Graming, the other half called a cab.

We had taken the train from Munich to Altötting. What is your starting point? We also stopped at Mühldorf on the way back to Munich.

We are starting from Munchen Flughafen and have accomodation booked in Muhldorf

Museumbrauerei Steer and the Unertl tap (Beim Schreindl) are on our list for the evening session in Muhldorf

Ruds, we went to Mühldorf to try Unertl beers at the tap Beim Schreindl. Got to Stadtplatz 67, but no tap. It appeared that a weinstube took its place. I called the Beim Schreindl number listed on Unertl's website (same number as in the Good Beer Guide Germany (08631 164477), and it connected to a nearby restaurant called Lodron Haus! (also listed on Unertl's webby). Lodron Haus is pretty much around the corner from where Beim Schreindl should be. Anyway, Lodron Haus confirmed they were open, and confirmed that they had some Unertl beer. So we went there and had a few. We sat in a small, white interior courtyard/entrance way, and enjoyed the beer. We didn't eat there, but we could see an elderly woman in a small kitchen off the courtyard pounding up some schnitzel for some other guests.

We walked past the brewery, but being later on a Friday, it appeared they were already closed.

Didn't make it to the Museum.

If you guys are walking from the train station to the brewery / Lodron Haus / main drag, be advised that there is a steep hill / set of stairs to navigate down (and then up to get back to the station!). The heavier guys in our group left us a bit early so they'd have time to hike up the stairs toward the station. They didn't want us to miss the train!

We had also wanted to visit the Unertl in Haag/Oberbayern, but it was too difficult time-wise for us to visit on this trip. However the brewer, in conversations with my friend, was eager to have us come by. Maybe next trip!

We also missed out on Erharting (6 km from Mühldorf....no known tap) and Bachmayer in Dorfen on the way back to Munich.

We always tend to plan too many stops, and realize we won't hit all of them.

And @ Bierman9....I really wanted to like Bräu im Moos. Especially since we used a taxi to get there and back from the station in Tüßling. But we all were in agreement that the beer was lacking. I don't rate beers, but I do take notes about where and what beers I drink. Only if a beer is exceptional, or very poor, do I note this for myself. And sadly, I noted it as well below average to poor (for the Weiss), and the Hell as barely "OK".
