This looks awesome! I love doing verticals like this.

As a side question, has anyone seen the Eleven Pipers Piping from The Bruery somewhere in Portland? It was last year's 12 Days of Christmas beer and I never saw any around town. Currently it's the only one I'm missing besides Partridge.

It's likely gone by now, but Saraveza had the entire vertical for sale (to go) over the holidays.

I'll stop in this Sunday and find out (plus their Block 15 bourbon event is going on). Any lead is worth following up on!

Not that it really matters, but I'm going to disagree a bit with Terry here. I agree with his assessment concerning Bigfoot needing time to mature and show it's best as a barleywine, but I wholeheartedly recommend bouncing around a bit while trying a vertical. Not only is it interesting to sample different vintages side by side, but these beers will also open up and the palate profile will change as the beer warms and is exposed to air. Almost always, my initial favorite of a flight won't be my favorite near the end of the tasting. Not only do the flavors change as the beer sits in the glass, but I almost always experience palate shift as well. In other words, my ability to appreciate and detect subtle nuances changes the deeper I go into a vertical tasting flight.

In any event, sounds like this was a very fun tasting (I love Bigfoot as well). Thanks for posting.

I've done some Bigfoot verticals in the past, and 1.5-2.5 years often seems like an awkward transitional stage for this beer. Drinking one in isolation isn't unpleasant, but in comparison to vintages on either side the effect is pronounced.

I'm also a proponent of jumping around the vertical vs. staying in order, though I'll usually take an initial sip in sequence.
