I'm looking for a magnum or 3L sour for an event, was hoping to see what these are trading for and what i'd have to offer to acquire one. It seems the most common are RR Consecration, Supplication, and Temptation, and the 3L were roughly $90 with a 50-100 bottle count. I'm not sure what something along the lines of 3F Oude Geuze/Cantillon Classic Gueuze 3L goes for (or something comperable,) but i would imagine the same price neighborhood in Belgium, then add rarity value on top when it enters the states. Would ~$100 in brewery-only, small batch bottles be enough to land one of these? I also have a 3L of Block 15 Pappy's Dark (signed, only 10 bottles made) but i'm not wanting to trade it away if i don't have to. any input is appreciated!

Large-format 3F and Cantillon exists but you'd need to trade something ridiculous for it. Large-format RR tends to trade well above what it would take to get the equivalent volume of small bottles, just because people love large formats and there are so few of them made and they're a BITCH to ship. I'm not sure what it takes to get one, honestly, but I know I wouldn't bother trading for one personally.

There's a few magnums I'm aware of with Cantillon/3F. I believe 3F had Oude Gueze Magnums were only made in 1994, 1995, and 2004. The 2004 has serious quality issues (massively oxidized and flat possibly due to cork issues) but I think thoreaulikeagirl has one for trade.

For Cantillon there's this year's Cuvee de St Gilloise magnums and jeroboams that were just announced. Of course there are several loons that are in magnum format that are Akkurat exclusives....Goldackerl and Soliel come to mind. There's also a mid-1990's Gambrinus and mid-2000's Cantillon Classic that I've heard people talk about.

You might have better luck tracking down a HotD magnum or RR jeroboam, those are actually somewhat obtainable.

Edit: There's also T25 jeroboams floating around, but they made only like 20 of them, and that beer sucks anyway.

T25 doesn't suck. It's not Lambeek Loves Dragonfruit or Biggs Stache. It's quite good. Is it as good as Beatification? No (there are Jeroboams of that, too).

Yeah but literally all of them are in RR's possession. Man, I would do terrible, terrible things for one of those.

yeah, i think a RR is what i'm shooting for with all factors considered. are they batch specific other than the Beatification? i've seen a few pics of each kind of bottle at random times, but not particularly with coinciding batch info.

would my 3L Pappy's Dark for a 3L of Temptation be an acceptable offer? if anyone is holding a 3L of anything, i'm curious as to what you would let it go for. i told myself i'd never give up the Pappy's, but i'm thinking i would entertain the notion for another solid 3L or a few big boys.

3L temptation is typically the hardest one to get. The last batch of 3L tempt that they made was only for employees and 20 bottles. They did a (not so) silent release of 3L Consecration last week so that may be easier to obtain, however that also was only 20 bottles.

Indeed, Cantillon just released 1.5L and 3L bottles of the Cuvée Saint Gilloise, but only for people who have a seasonal ticket to Jeans favourite football team (Union Saint Gilloise). Bottle count on the 3L bottles was only 16 though. They have a few more magnums.
From the end of september on, they normally will start selling magnums of the regular Gueuze as well! So that's something to look forward to

Really? When at the end of Sept? I'll be in Brussels around Sept 22 and would love one of those bad boys...

How do you plan on getting the Union Saint Gilloise seasonal ticket?

Why would the regular gueuze only go to people with the season tickets? I suppose they could do that, but it doesn't really make sense.

It does just depend -- I had one with a leaky cork. It was still totally delicious, but flat as a pancake.
