Is fantastic. I'm a self avowed JP fanboy, and this is the best LaRoja I have ever had. I might even put it above the last GR I had. 5/13/12, worth grabbing. I'll be headed back to the store tomorrow. I just had to say something.
LaRoja is without a doubt my favorite JP beer, I love the batch to batch variation of this beer. I few batches ago wound up in spent Backwoods Bastard barrel, the slight hint of bourbon was a welcome addition. I think I will have to keep an eye open.
This was not the GR I was referring to, the batch was released late 2010 early 2011ish. JP uses many different barrels and does not necessarily keep track of what specific barrels are used for each batch. There is certainly a chance the last GR was aged in similar barrels.
