Bourbon Barrel Aged Third Coast Old Ale

    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/287/38146

Forget Black Note and BB Cherry Stout....barleywine is where it's at!! Third Coast Old Ale is an amazing american barleywine....but I would like to try it barrel aged.
What are everyone elses thoughts on Third Coast Old Ale...and hoping for a BB 3rd?

I'd be pretty into that idea.

Well since Third Coast Old Ale was one of only a small hand full of barleywines that I greatly enjoyed I am happy to support this one.

I'm with you on this one Shawn. I've had this one recently all the way back to '93 and it holds well with age. Throw some in a barrel and I think it would be pretty darn good.

Just sit on a bottle for about 20 years and you will forget why you wanted it barrel aged.

I would really love to see Wheat Love brought back. Barrel aged Wheat Love could be intriguing.

Thanks again for opening that old ass bottle, before then I had written third coast off without considering the possibility for aging.

Am I the only one that would probably kill for a couple bottles of BA Hell Hath No Fury? That was truly an amazing beer.

I thought there was Uberon and Double Oberon that summer. I may have had the wrong beer linked but I am pretty sure they had a BA Oberon at one point.

I love Third Coast. I like the idea of barrel aging, but better yet, I like the idea of a blend of 1/3 barrel aged and 2/3 regular. The base beer is way to good to let bourbon dominate it.

I just recently had a 2004...amazing! So, I agree that bringing a BA version back would be awesome. I recently emailed bells about the barrel-aged-Expy that came and hasn't come back...I was told that with their new expansion more of those specialties will be made...here's to hoping!

Also, I'm aware that BlackNote is partially baexpy, but it just isn't the same IMO
