I always strive(d) to maintain a balance between breweries and beer bars. I grant you, though, that going back to 2017-2019, the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild supported a "Summer Passport" program which involved getting me to visit breweries and taprooms more than beer bars. I did very well those years. I qualified for the free IMBIBE membership. I took a bunch of photographs this year of the virtual Passport breweries' beers.
This is all displayed in clear view on my regular bookmark page. Frankly, I should not have to plug it as much as I do - It is that good, and more of you should surf it.
On it, you'll glimpse an entire rubric labelled "Beer". It has links to BeerMenus, a craft beer bar locator; thirteen metropolitan Chicago craft beer bars (egads - how have I not put The Beer Temple on it? :anguished:); ten Chicago taprooms... just go there, OK? :weary:
Just last Thursday (28 October), I visited a City of Chicago clinic to get the Zoster vaccine (my COVID-19 booster shot must wait until at least 9 November). When finished, I opted to ride the route #78 Montrose bus west to Templestowe Pub. Amazingly, about an hour after my arrival, two of the hot shots from Illuminated Brew Works showed up. It seems every Thursday, Templestowe has a brewery special, and this night it was I.B.W. Which was one of the most recent breweries I had visited (I.B.W.'s Mocktoberfest). :beers:
