    Didn't see thread for them.

went a few weeks back and was impressed for their initial offerings.

Cigar Box inspired beer was unique and had a nice smokey flavor. A few good ipas and the coconut porter was pretty good as well.

been meaning to hit it the next time I'm in Point... didn't a second Point Pleasant brewery also open right around the same time?

@njcraftfan Frye brewing. Hit that one the same day. Fairly average beers but the owner/brewer was there and very nice. I would hit both as they are super close. Spent much more time at Last Wave..

FWIW, I went to both the Point spots on July 4th weekend. I had stopped at Kane, Talula's and Jughandle prior. Here are the notes I posted elsewhere:

Was then going to head to Icarus, but I figured I'd try to hit them this upcoming weekend so I altered plans and the last second, made a left on 88 and visited Fyre. Super, super small setup, but solidly crowded. Only one table free as there were several groups - mainly older crowd - but many seats available at the bar. I wish them luck as they seem like really nice people, but nothing super noteworthy that I drank. Covfefe Ale won points primarily for the name, but also because it was my favorite of the 5 available.

Then decided to really push the wife's goodwill to the test and head to Last Wave. Awesome spot - albeit parking isn't great - and this place was packed with a mix of your typical Point Beach crowd and older locals. Easily the highlight of the day for me, and a super surprising big recommendation. The A-Frame IPA was really, really good, the Red Sky Aged on Cigar Boxes was the best beer I had all day (and I wish I could have grabbed a growler) and the Right Coast Coconut Porter was extremely solid.

I thoroughly enjoyed Last Wave and have been several times already. Like everyone else stated the people at Frye were nice but the beer just wasn't good. Covefe was the only beer out of the 5 that they were pouring that I would even drink a second glass of. Sadly everyone on facebook kissed their ass and told them how great they are. Hopefully they realize the beer needs some serious attention and come out with some better offerings.

I tend to not read Facebook nor Google reviews about breweries, it tends to skew more towards the general populace and less towards a standard for BA's. I also skip Untappd for them because it usually follows that trend. I'd rather take the word of someone from here or a friend.

That said, I've heard decent things about Last Wave, eh about Frye. I'll probably visit after Labor Day. Not a real big fan of Point Pleasant in the summer.

Not sure of where you're coming from but I've been to Last Wave three times since they opened. Every time was in the afternoon and I found parking easy and it wasn't too crowded. I guess everyone was still on the beach.

Yea re: Parking there's literally an enormous public parking lot right behind Last Wave. Shouldn't be a problem during the hours they're open.

I went to Last Wave on opening Day and was really really impressed with A-Frame. I met friends there a couple weeks ago excited to have an A-Frame and it was definitely not the same beer. I took a picture on untapped and opening day it was a beautiful hazy yellow. The 2nd time I was there it was a very dark brown and tasted super malty. Went a 3rd time and it was again not like the first time. Anyone else run into this?

Ah, for some reason I thought just driving over there would be a pain because of beach goers. So I might decide to head on over on a rainy Saturday then.

best bet for you right there is bad weather. Might as well give Frye a try. Also Gerard's over on bridge ave has an awesome beer selection to go. tons of local options.

Got to try A Frame at Bonney Read in Asbury this weekend. If you see it on tap, it's worth a try for sure.

The chicken sandwich and salmon caesar are both excellent as well. Great place to hang / happy hour
