Late Night Beer Advocate - Friday Night

I love some stouts to, that BBQ was really scrumptious as well, had 2 bottles, meant to save one, but, uhm, uh, so good, hard to pass up!

Great beer for me tonight, went to the Burgundian tonight with a friend, had southern tier gemini on tap, then a boneyard espresso chocolate stout with some biscuits and chorizo gravy (possibly the greatest food and beer pairing I've had) then had an anchor steam back at my place, then went to another bar and had a maritime imperial ipa, then a shot of makers, and now it's just about time for me to be in bed.

 

The Abacus could've used some aging for perfection, but was well worth the money & dialed in to what I want from a barrel aged BW. Tried to pair it witn some Girl Scout thin mints, didn't work for me... Still a great beer

 

That's my favorite silver city brew, so damn good.

 

Got home from work and had a Brainless on peaches, did dinner and shopping with the wife. Nice 3 hr drive to give my father in law crutches after he broke tibia and cant see VA till Monday. Home now with a blithering idiot.

Goose Island Nut Brown, Two Hearted, and finishing off with Sucaba.

 

Tonight its been Sierra Nevada Hoptimum, Old Rasputin, and a Brau Brothers Moo Joos.

 

started with weyerbacher insanity.

then went to some bar in the sticks to see my old bass player's 80s cover band. had a sam adams alpine spring there (very good), then 2 maker's marks. the latter was poured as if the bartender had had considerably more alcohol than me, so it was more like 5 maker's marks total.

 

All over the place tonight.

Love that Peculier. I've never seen it in Illinois, but when I visit my parents in New Jersey there's a shop near them that always has a six-pack in the fridge, which I make sure to get.

 

Had a PBR at an impromptu birthday party, came back for a Palo Santo. I think it's time to sleep.

 

Drinking Weihenstephaner hefe and watching Scrubs, Torpedo and Bigfoot up next.
