My first time trying, really appreciating all that Boulevard does, their Smokestack Series is tops, Byron's and Freeman's has some on the shelves here in OKC…Cheers bro ~

I like/love all the smokestack series for the most part, but the Rye on Rye is my favorite, & goes great with a bitter cold winter's day assuming we see any of those here any time soon (last winter didn't kill many bugs I reckon...)

Sippin on a King Henry for the night! This beer is ridiculous. Playing some good music on the headphones and enjoying each sip.

Started off with a Nugget Nectar (thanks aficionado) then moved on to a Union Jack. Shared a couple of PtE with a friend (over cheese and crackers). Went out to dinner with my wife (without the effin kids) and had an Elysian Hubris. Now drinking a Deviant Dale. Will join my wife soon after she changes clothes.

Fridays are my re-rate nights. Beers I havent had in a couple years when I started rating lol. Tonight turned out to be surprises all around. Rochefort 8 and AB impressed me way more than the first time around, and I rated them fairly well.

fantastic stuff for sure. very complex
    [IMG]

unbelievable smoothness in this 11.3% beer. alcohol pretty much invisible. very complex as is the 8.

Amazing with big toasted grain, biscuit, caramel, citrus, and pine. Very extremely balanced tasting now with my trained palate for high bitterness.

I still have the rochefort 6 in my fridge now, I have not had that before so I will likely have it tomorrow.

no doubt, Boulevard Smokestack Series is amazing good. Lived here since '87 and that was the most mild winter I have ever seen in OK. I can imagine what the summer has in store…F5 from Coop! Oh yea! Looking forward to that release as well as their Territorial Reserve Wild Wheat Wine in April. Cheers my friend ~

Went out tonight so I had to scrounge up some things from a pretty limited selection. Found this good choice:

Then on to one of these:

Huge fan of Boulevard's Smokestack Series as well. They had an Imperial Stout in the series those of us in Illinois never saw. Did you get this? If so, how was it? Happy to snag a Rye On Rye today!

The imp stout was good, but seems like this the last few years all did better with some age on it. my 2 cents

I did grab a bottle of the Imperial Stout, it was 54% ale and 46% ale aged in whiskey barrels and the whiskey barrel definitely stood out beginning to finish. I really enjoyed this one.

That sucks they didn't distribute to Illinois, weird how breweries hit and miss certain areas. Really bummed that SN Hoptimum is not in OK. Cheers ~

Yeah, it is strange. We've gotten everything in the Smokestack Series except the Imp. Stout. Of course, I'm a bit of a stoutie, so I was really disappointed. Still have a couple BBQ's in the cellar and looking to pick up one more Rye on Rye...
