Awesome, dude. I think Jack D'Or is a beautiful beer, it's like a lighter, brighter Hennepin.

Your love for Old Raspy has reminded me that I should probably go and get myself a pack tomorrow - cheers to that!

Having some more of the Le Terroir I opened two nights ago. Warming up to it more and more, digging the kombucha vibe. I've got a bunch more work I want to do tonight and have to get up early (if my own students don't show up to an 8:25AM Friday discussion section, why should I have to?) before a loooong-ass day tomorrow, but I figured a small glass of Le Terroir isn't going to kill me.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio I was routing for the Bearcats but either way it was a win for me! Buckeyes!

Yeah, my glass is positively glowing ! As I wrote in my review, if the retention and lacing on this thing were better, I would give it a solid 5 for appearance.

Ah, yeah comparing our reviews of it, I guess I was really jonesing for the mouthfeel. But I did agree with you, re: head retention. Great-looking beer, but not sticky / lacy enough for a Belgian-style beer, I thought.

Looking at your review, I definitely see what you mean about the mouthfeel, but it's a little too subtle for me to rate it higher. Still a great brew though. Might revisit a different (read: more recent) bottling in the future if I can get my hands on it and re-review.

Fair enough. Much to my chagrin, it's the only Pretty Things I've had the pleasure of trying, and I've had it twice now. Really tempted to pick up a bottle of Baby Tree, they've got a bunch of it at a co-op around the corner from my house . . . maybe soon.

The only reason I got to try Jack was that I'm visiting some friends in Manhattan (with carry-on bags only :slight_frown:), and the Whole Foods on 24th happened to have a couple bottles of it. Maybe if I start trading more frequently in the future...

Having a Sierra Nevada Porter. I just felt like a good porter, can't explain it.

First tasting of a homebrew black ipa. Needs some more time. So tempted to dive into the KBS. Tough to ration two bottles. Cheers

Yeah it's not tooooo too hard to find around here. Usually Jack, Botolph's, and one or two of their seasonals are pretty readily available, even in a good grocery store like Wegmans.

Had a mini tasting with a friend. Our lineup consisted of Six Row Jack Daniels BA Porter on cask plus the following:

And yes, that is Buffalo Traces BA LSD, of which only 204 bottles were made.

Not our strongest tasting, but pretty damn solid.

Original batch, not leftovers. I discovered a couple bottles hidden in the back of the fridge.

Did a taste test between Nugget Nectar and Lagunitas Imperial red. -Red wins by a smidgen.

    Cheers!
