Had to get this one started tonight as I watch our reigning World Champion STL Cardinals jump out to an early lead on (US) opening night for MLB. Drinking a (semi) local brew, Charleville Hoptimistic IPA - new recipe that's very tasty and much stronger in the hops department than the old bomber version.

    What's in your glass tonight?

First, a New Belgium Shift Pale Lager(good stuff), now I'm finishing a Sierra Nevada Ovila Dubbel that comes in C&C 375ml 4 packs. It's better than I remember from last year in a 750ml.

Might have to try that Dubbel. Enjoyed it on tap last year when I tried it, though not enough to have then invested in a bombers worth. But in regular 12 oz'er I might have to give it a try, especially if offered as a single somewhere.

Almost bought the Shift Lager today, saw it available as a single, but passed. Want to try it for the nelson sauvin hops but also a little disinterested since I don't care for lagers. I am sure I will eventually try it though.

Started my night with an Oskar Blues G'Knight and while it started off great, aroma was wonderful, it ended being a dud. Thinking I had a old batch, couldn't figure out how to read the date code, but it was kinda gummy in flavor, a lot of alcohol showing itself, and quite chewy in texture. Didn't finish the can

Now, finishing up a Green Flash Hop Head Red IPA. Enjoyable brew but nothing remarkable.

Split my first ever zombie dust earlier with my gf, now I'm having my first ever bells beer, java stout, and watching the ball game, that new park in Miami looks beautiful.

Having my first Torpedo. It's so widely available I've been passing it by. Wish I wouldn't have been....it's awesome.

For me, the night is devoted to Alesmith Speedway Stout. It reminds me of that scene from the Simpsons where Barney Gumble wins a lifetime supply of Duff beer and he yells out ``Just hook it to my vein!''

Hofbrau Maibock for me. Unfortunately, it's a little skunked. I can only blame myself for taking the gamble, though.
