If you end up taking the 101 through Southern Cali, I highly recommend a place called Ladyface Alehouse. They make mostly belgian styles and also keep a pretty good tapping and bottle list. Located in Agoura Hills, right off the 101 freeway. Also a good bottle shop right up the street called Wade's Wines that features a tap room with 40 taps, but only do tastings Thurs-Sun.

Thanks for the tip man, I'm certainly planning on taking the scenic 101. I don't think the trip would be worth it if we didn't.

 

Do some Portland recon for me on your way down. Planning a beercation there with the wifey in the summer. Got some obvious places to hit (HotD, Deschuttes) but always looking for the hidden gems.

great beer, and even better people running it, some of the nicest people I've met.

 

Still working out the details of the trip, but the plan is to fly into PDX. We might rent a car from there and head into Seattle since we've never been there either, but we're unsure so far. Kinda depends what the financial picture looks like. But I'll definitely keep this place in mind as a potential lure to head further north. Thanks.

How is that? I've only had it once and I don't remember much about it. Awesome label though! I know the craft beer community is heavy on the dog theme but good people drink good beer and good people love dogs - nuff said.

On an IPA/DIPA kick tonight. Scuttlebutt Gale Force, Hopslam, and now trying Squatters Hop Rising. Not as hoppy as expected, but decent flavor nonetheless, with smooth drinkability to boot...
