Their BA stuff has been kind of a mess; it's sold out instantly in a lot of places, and therefore is pretty hard to track. This place is usually a decent place to at least prepare for its arrival, but after that, you're best off talking to your local bottle shops.

I had one last night and it definitely has a lingering, back of throat burn. I liked it, but I can see how it would put some off. I didn't think the taste was over powering by any stretch.

Glad to hear the recent input on BA End of Days. Like @SeanBond I prefer a more mellow pepper flavor to provide a balance to other flavors, so I'll keep holding onto my bottle.

I see Lupine is slated for distribution next week. I'll probably hold off on getting a bottle, but am intrigued to hear how people like it.

BAEoD is perfect. Drink it now. Enjoy that heat. Keep in mind all of the spices will mellow over time, not just the pepper.

Agreed on BA EoD. Had a full tasting of this years variants and that was the consensus favorite. Followed closely by Hyper Dog which was a BA Coffee Bomb! There is most definitely a lot of heat in EoD but not on the DL Muerte level. I thought it was perfect.

I actually liked BA Final Act the best, then BA Hyper, BA JD, and BA Eod bringing up the rear. Was bummed about BA JD - wasn't, imho, as good as the previous year. That said, their BA program is top notch in my book overall!

All this talk is making me want to crack open one of the most recent batch of BA beers from PW. I think I had a Jones Dog already, and kind of agree that it wasn't as good as the prior version. Although, I did have the prior version with about a year of age on it (and I thought it was fantastic), so that could've played into it as well.

I drank a BA End of Days yesterday and quite enjoyed it. Cinnamon up front with a mild back of the throat heat at the end.

I didn't have BA EoD, but in my opinion this year's PW BA series went BA Hyper Dog -> BA Final Act -> BA Jones Dog... and none of those those were anything other than exceptional. It's like picking a favorite kids.

I really liked the BA Jones Dog. I recently had the Buffalo Trace BA aged as well, and thought Elijah Craig BA was slightly tastier (but then again, I like the heat from fresh Elijah Craig BA brews).

I had BA Jobes Dog on tap at Local Option when they dropped Rohrwerker Batch 666 and it was incredible. Unfortunately I didn't snag any bottles before that when they were available so I'm sitting on my hands waiting for the next release.

If you're not lingering in the store already you're gonna be too late I'm afraid. Only half joking.

So the rumors of Pipeworks truck chasers aren't totally rumors ... :grimacing:

I popped the current BA JD last week - hot as all hell - went down more like bourbon vs beer at the start, but mellowed a bit with oxidation. Giving my others more time in the bottle. Rohrwerker was stellar

That's funny I think our rankings were almost opposit. BA EOD>BA Hyper> BA JD>BA Final Act. I think I got that, right @lopy ? And it was so close they were all exceptional. We actually preferred this years JD to the last batch.

So this lupine ninja is bugging me. Can't put my finger on what hop these guys used.

I was kind of expecting a sneaky galaxy ninja entrance, but it's not Galaxy. I've got a few guesses, but I'd rather see what everyone else thinks first. I don't want to put ideas in anyone's head.

Regardless, this is one of the best ninja beers in a long while. I think the malt bill is lighter. If that's the case keep it right here guys because the hops are still bold and its dangerously drinkable for the 9.5 ABV. I've always thought 9.5 was a bit much, but if they all get made like this I'm fine with it.

Actually, after smelling the bottle before rinsing and recycling it, I'm not so sure it's not Galaxy. At least it smells like pineapple this morning haha.

For me, high ABV beers can be harder to breakdown. Sometimes the sweetness from the ABV confused me and I can't tell what's what. I guess that's called balance, but it frustrates an analytical brain like mine.

Whatever it is, I'm curious to understand Pipeworks strategy. I'm not sure having a rare "once in a full moon" hop and then hiding that info on the back of a bottle is the best promotion strategy for the average consumer who doesn't follow social media.

Either way, awesome beer. Make it again next year

Glad you like it. The mystery hop is not Galaxy. It's an experimental hop that we don't have access to beyond what made it into this batch.

Loving a Lupine right now. Beautiful clear-ish gold. Touch of sweetness, honey maybe, but pretty dry. I too get a pineapple aroma, although I am fighting off a head cold with a ninja right now. This one seems boozier on the back end than other PW 9.5's, could be due to less mouthfeel, but its very drinkable. Either way, I've been saving my duckets for CCBW, but I may have to grab another bottle of this. Thoroughly enjoying Lupine.

Stopped drinking PW (IIpa) bombers because of all the 9.5 & 10 % abv's that kind of all taste the same. Much prefer Lizard King @ 5..5 % were you actually get to taste the Hop profile and not syrupy malt and booze. Would love to see a low abv single Hop series from PW but am probably in the minority.

Lupine is good, but I'd rather see more Fish Series than Ninja brews.

Won't Lil' Citra fit that bill? I think they said end of June for those cans to hit. They've also got Passion Fruit Guppy coming out, at least on tap - not sure if that is single hop or not.
