Downers Grove Binnys still had Over the Line behind the front counter as of about an hour and a half ago.

WLV had SG around noon today, and I think RvU, but OtL won't be in inventory until mid next week.

I called at 10:30 and they told me they still had a couple. Hopped straight in the car and got there just before 11 and was told they were sold out. disappointing to say the least, but that's the chase. I was going to head over right when they opened, but opted for the farmer's market first. lesson learned....

With Vince being out in Denver for GABF there were no tweets and had no idea their shipment was coming in so early. This was going to be my go to...

I went to the DG Binnys at 4pm on Saturday and we each got 1. Someone behind the CS counter told me they "found another case in a conspicuous spot in the store".

They also had Grouper still, limit 2.

Any word for Algonquin Binny's by chance?

That's so weak. I drop a ton of money in that store. I'm not looking for preferential treatment or anything, but c'mon... Vince was in Denver so it's not all that surprising it was mis-managed, I suppose. Still stings though. Even more so now that I know I got shafted...

The Glen Ellyn Binnys also got it, didn't tweet or post anything and sold out over the weekend. It's kind of a bummer and a shock that these locations got it so quickly since distro started Friday. Didn't think the suburbs would see it until at least Monday / Tuesday and now chances of getting a bottle are gonna be pretty low... but those are the brakes. Now ISO Over the Line

I checked with them too after getting "shut out" at the DG location. Was advised at that time that they were already sold out as well. Wonder if they "found" a second case later in the day as well...

I just happen to be finishing up with my buying haul when it came in... I got one bottle, very happy about it. :-)

I stopped in GE late on Sunday. Was told all the OTL was gone Friday night and the Grouper by Saturday afternoon.

and just to clarify, we didn't get preferential treatment. my 1st stop is always the CS counter to see what's there. they still had bottles in the display case. each of us got 1 OTL and 2 Groupers.

Oh, I understand completely, and was not implying that all. The box only had grouper on display when I was in there, so that at least lends some believe-ability to the misplaced case story. Either way, it hurts to get shut out at the honey hole and adds insult to injury when you find out it wasn't really sold out. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anyone do any cellaring/aging of Reaper vs Unicorn? I'm debating whether buying a second bottle and aging it or not.

Might as well. Barleywines typically handle aging pretty well. I don't have any reaper, but I've got a santa vs unicorn from about a year ago I'm planning on opening soon.

Algonquin got Square grouper & Over the line today. Sent my friend there and he said both had sold out. Try following @beeratalgonquin on twitter for the latest updates.

Release of this good stuff started 10/3!

    Square Grouper

Duuuuude...Did you see that cloud? It like winked at me. Wait, what was I saying? Oh, yeah. We put in like what was it....honey. No, like insane amounts of honey. Annnnnnd.....psssssh....right, no, no I got it, hops. Like seriously dank hops. Like the illist strains. I'm talking Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra. And like honey! We brewed Square Grouper, the stickiest of the ickiest of IIPA's with these dudes we know at 4Hands Brew Co. It's dank.
    $11.99, 22oz, 9.5% ABV

    Reaper vs Unicorn
The unicorn may have finally met its match in Death Incarnate. But hold your horned horses, because the unicorn lives to rye another day! What a sickle joke! We aren't tricking you, this barleywine is a real treat, with a rich malt skeleton and a more than paranormal amount of hops. If you're going to harvest soul-y one beer this season, don't fear the Reaper...
    $10.99, 22 oz, 10% ABV

This saison brewed with peaches, honey, and vinous hallerteau blanc hops is a delightfully bright and crisp break on your long journey. Where ever your worldly or outer-worldly destination is, this Hoperational Battle Station will be your oasis. (This beer does not claim to be able to be your the band "Oasis").
    $10.99, 22 oz, 8.5% ABV
