If the hops come out like mine did, it'll be one dimensional with tangerine/orange. I used those same exact hops in my last IPA, 4 oz of each total, 2oz of each for dry hop, along with 1 oz of Columbus for bittering. Vienna, C40, Pale 2 Row, and Flaked Wheat, US-05 at 68 degrees.

Please, either no wax or very minimal wax (like on the New Glarus fruit beers).

Trying to slice through really thick wax 4 hours into a massive bottle share (say, Dark Lord Day) can lead to some... unfortunate situations. At least with the NG fruit beers, taking a church key style opener to them take the cap, wax and all, without bloodshed.

I'm kinda against the NG wax because that crap is sticky and on a marginally warm day that crap gets all over my hands and everything else. If a beer scientist can prove that wax prevents oxidation by the order of a percent or two, I say wax the big beers folks are aging, otherwise no thanks.

My preference is no wax at all. The minimal wax option is if people absolutely demand it.

Foil or paper wrapping (like on Firestone Walker stuff) is a better option than the damn wax, too. Certainly easier to get off the bottle.

What if you packaged each beer with a small ziplock of wax beads so if we want, we can melt them down and put it on the bottles ourselves? that seems like the most logical course of action.

or just put the wax IN the beer! You could call it "Bees Knees!"

If we're taking a poll: No wax please. Or please use wax like New Glarus does, very lightly.

If you choose to use wax, please please please DO NOT use anything like what New Glarus uses. Their wax is sticky and it smudges.

OK guys, to summarize where we are at with Pipe-Wax-Gate-a-Mania2013:

Use wax similar to new glares' wax, but not as meltable and make it oliophobic so it doesn't smudge, but thick enough to create a debate as to whether it does anything, but thin enough so @mdomask doesn't accidentally stab someone and go to jail at DLD2014, only use cool colors, but don't cover the whole bottle, or do cover the whole bottle, but not the bottom, call @BeerGreg's secretary and tell her (OR HIM!) that his afternoon is booked with waxings. specify that this is beer related and the "other" waxing isn't until Thursday afternoon. gotta look clean for the weekend, ya know what I'm saying? (points at @pmoney) this guy knows what I'm saying. Call Miyagi, because @stevegoz is gonna crane kick a fool. Also give me a ziplock back of wax beads.

Oh, and while you're at it, put something tasty in the bottle first. You guys make stuff to go IN the bottles, right?

IMHO, I couldn't care less if there is or isn't wax - Just make sure those BA bad boys make their way out to the burbs...had some of a Last Kiss cellared for a year at a tasting last night and can't imagine how amazing it would be barrel aged!! Tasted like roasted pecans with molasses!

Can't wait for BA PW. And 12oz bottles is great news, just hope they don't cost an arm and a leg!

NG wax is weird and sticky. Also so thin you barely see it. 2012 red three floyds wax was perfect.
