Couldn't agree more; Grouper is the truth! Thought highly of their other DIPA's, but this was the first one I had to go out the next day a grab another. Hopefully this makes a return...Well done!

    November 27, 2013 Update

Imperial End Of DaysSo maybe their calendar wasn't the best judge of when the world was going to end but damn, those Mayans made a mean hot chocolate. With that as our inspiration we imperialized our old friend End of Days. That means more malt, more cacao nibs, more vanilla, more cinnamon, more ancho & guajilllo peppers and more virgin sacrifices (kidding, totally kidding). The resulting brew has a big rich body, notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and a slight spicy kick on the finish. It is delicious right now or you could stash it away in your temperature controlled resting place until the next time the world ends. $10.99, 22oz, 10.5% ABV

Imperial End of Days is Available for Friends With Benefits pickup immediately at Binny's Lincoln Park and West Lakeview Liquors.

    On the Brewing Horizon
Bigger Smoky P - Imperial Smoked Porter
Derketo - Belgian Imperial IPA featuring Galaxy and Amarillo hops
Cherry Truffle Abduction - Russian Imperial Stout with Vanilla, Cacao Nibs and Klug Farms Sour Cherries added
Santa vs Unicorn - American Style Barley Wine
Ninja vs Unicorn - Double IPA
Murderous - English Style Barley Wine

Honestly, i'd like it more if it had virgin sacrifices.

Well I'm glad I bought one Galactic Unicorn and one Square Grouper instead of two of the GUs!

Yea, grab the Grouper while you can. If anyone in the Northwest burbs has been looking. I was able to pick one up in Arlington Heights. Seems like AH and Schuamburg were as far as it got in the Northwest burbs. Went to LZ Binny's today, grabbed another Galaxy and an Imperial EoD, but no Grouper was delivered. Didn't look like BG or Algonquin got any either. Hoping there will be more batches in the future.

Square Grouper is the best beer I've ever had. Slams hops, tops headys and leaves zombies in its dust. Excellent work 4 Hands and PWs!!

So in regards to accessible Chicagoland stout news....

Has anyone tried the Imperial End of Days yet? Do the cinnamon and peppers stand out at all? Or is it like the former where everything is subdued by the cacao nibs and vanilla? I tried all the different colored wax batches of the former hoping for a variation and was quite underwhelmed and don't want to give this a shot without some feedback. Thanks

Yeah, you'd hate to drop 13 bucks on a beer you haven't had before this time of year.... :grinning:

I thought there was a lot of cinnamon in it. A little lingering heat on the back end, not much though.

Who's excited like me that today is CTA bottling day? I think I'm going to ask my local bottle shop boys to do a special release day on it. Just doesn't seem right to walk directly up to the counter with the bottle anymore; hate to miss out on the ethereal experience of lining up with strangers out in the cold to get a beer.

I think we should have a Norseman vs. Infinite1 steel cage death match for all the CTA.

Sure, as long as Infinite and I can wait in line outside the cage, I'm game.

Hey guys I have a quick question. Is there any foreseeable Cherry Abduction hitting shelves before Christmas? Trying to finish out a horizontal for a Christmas party this year. If not, ohwell.. Not like I don’t have a bunch of other tasty abductions to open with friends.
