I was in a movie when they released this at all my regular spots and it was gone by the time I got out. SERVES ME RIGHT FOR DOING SOMETHING BESIDES HUNTING BEER 24/7 I JUST DIDN'T WANT IT ENOUGH :stuck_out_tongue::rolling_eyes:

(but hopefully Pipeworks will do another release of this in a couple months like the rest of the Abduction series)

Please make lots of this beer! Best coconut beer I have ever had, better than Proprietors IMO.

I was a bit disappointed as well. It's their first shot at TNA and I'm certain future iterations will have it dialed in. It was just a bit thin & watery for me. Also found the coconut to be more nuanced than I was hoping (although I found the same thing with the Proprietor's I had). I mean it was there but would have loved a bit more in-your-face coconut. Also, I just had a Founders Imperial Stout and would love the next TNA to have that creamy, full body mouthfeel that I find FIS to have. I've only had CBA thus far (although I have the others in my cellar) so maybe creamy & full is not the abduction MO. Well, my opinion anyway but glad I had a chance to try it.

Agree about the coconut, as well as the almond. The biggest thing I was missing was bitterness, this thing was about 2 ibu.

have to be honest... if there is one thing we know is that you guys never agree on anything... fuck... that beer is loaded with so much coconut.... so its funny that some peeps are like 'add more coconut' really? because if we did then peeps would be like 'omg that's so much coconut we can't taste the BASE beer' what's fun is we kind of do things like that PURPOSELY to mess with some of ya'll... so funny some of peoples reviews 'omg that's way too much coffee' for example and then we don't change anything and next batch review from the same person 'o, this is the perfect amount of coffee glad they dialed it back'
    it is amusing

also WE LOVE COCONUT... I would venture to guess that there might be more coconut flavor in this beer than any other commercially produced beer in history... (educated guess...since we know what went into the beer) and we have no idea who proprietors is either...we went so overboard with the flavor on this beer that it is comical! almond and coconut... but yea we should add more because it's totally subtle...

Had Proprietors tonight. Tons of coconut.

Had Stones Coconut IPA a few months back. Plenty of coconut there to.

Yet on both beers I heard complaints from many that the beer lacked coconut characteristics. I almost started a thread this evening asking people if they knew what coconut is.

Can't wait to try this beer. I love coconut. I am sure this will be just fine. Probably outstanding.

I don't know what it is about coconut but I don't think some people would recognize it if I threw one at their head.

I love the Abduction series and I've been excited about this one for awhile. Hopefully I can pick up a bottle or two, but good god I'm worried I'll get frostbite just walking from a parking lot into a Binny's today/tomorrow.

Coconut is a subtle flavor particularly in beer. Being released close enough to Proprietor's I'm curious to see how it compares even if that isn't entirely fair to either beer. Either way keep the new and interesting beers coming, and feel free to make Citra Ninja year round, that beer is my soul mate.

Wow. I'm surprised at the reaction to TNA here. Everyone has and is entitled to their own opinions, but fuck I think that beer is the shit. Right up there with Square Grouper. Only thing I'd like to see done to it is maybe add a smidgen more almond or just throw it in a barrel for a few months. Or just leave it be. Because it's legit. But I'm no beer sommelier or cicerone, so what do I know?

I had both Sonoma and TNA over the weekend and both were delicious. Sonoma is definitely a DIPA so I'm not sure what this English summer ale description is about. It's also a fantastic DIPA that is right up there with all of the PW DIPAs.

TNA was also a damn good beer. I felt it was very thick and creamy as with all of the imperial stouts/porters PW has been releasing lately. The coconut flavor was very present and did not take away from the base. I'd be extremely surprised if someone said they could not taste the coconut on this one. The only beer I've ever had with more coconut is Three Hour Tour and that is a 5% milk stout (also the best coconut beer out there by far). The almond flavor was quite subtle on TNA, but went along really nice with the coconut.

Still, this beer was very sweet and bold with all of its flavors so I'd recommend this bomber be shared with at least 2-3 people.

I haven't had the coconut yet. I did mix the FIS wiith the CTA. I've never mixed beers before that, it was ok but not great.
