Alright, Ill see if the girlfriend can stop by during the day.
Does anyone know of a place that still has MariLime or OTA in the city or around Darien? Taking off for cottage in Indiana tomorrow and wanted to try and bring those to open with some people who don't normally have access.
Is Everett's getting any OTA or Marilime? They seem to get things a little later than most so hoping I didn't miss out.
Has OTA even made it to the West burbs yet?
Yes! Unicorn Galaxy (Galaxy Unicorn?) is my favorite Pipeworks beer.
Willowbrook Binny's will usually say when something comes in and just checked and it doesn't look like it has. I may have freaked out a bit premature once I saw it was being released and didn't want to miss out.
I stopped in last night around 8 pm and seemed to have a fair amount of both. I know it wasn't sold out as of last night as I tweeted before I arrived asking, and got a reply after they closed saying to come back when they opened at 11am today. Obviously things could have changed in 2+ hours since they opened, but you have a fighter's chance. . .
Beer Temple had about 5 left as of about an hour ago.
No it has not. Hopefully tomorrow!
Thanks for the tip, ended up with some free time at lunch and went and grabbed two. Still a handful of OTA, and a bunch of Marilime and Centennial sitting there.
It usually lasts a week. So probably next Monday or Tuesday. Unless Vav has changed how long they hold them back. I know I probably can't get there until Friday so I'm hoping it's still a week...
Lansman you take those beers to the Hill Farmstead anniversary party?
OTA made it to Standard Market today. Not sure about Willowbrook Binnys.
Yes sir - also distributed bottles to a couple locals around Vermont, including the owner/operator of a nanobrewery (Grateful Hands) working out of his garage. Reviews overwhelmingly positive, of course.
June 26, 2013 Update
This week brings three releases. One new and two old favorites:
Orange Truffle Abduction is our new member of the Abduction family. OTA is a 10.5% imperial stout brewed with orange zest, juice, cacao nibs and vanilla beans. $10.99 per 22oz bottle.
MariLime Law, our collaboration with Tired Hands Brewing Company out of Ardmore, PA, makes it's triumphant return. This 8% imperial IPA was brewed with fresh lime zest and juice as well as Simcoe and Amarillo hops. A great beer for all things summer. $9.99 per 22oz bottle.
Poivre Rose returns for the first time this summer and with new packaging! This time around we packaged this saison brewed with pink peppercorns in 750ml bottles. Poivre Rose one is definitely one of our favorites! $9.99 per 750ml bottles.
All three are available now for FWB pick up at Binny's Lincoln Park and tomorrow at West Lakeview Liquors. (We suggest you call ahead to confirm stock if you are making long trip.)
We are also happy to announce that we are on track to open bottle shop in November.
We will be able to share our summer event schedule with you very soon.
On brewing Horizon:
Saison du Soleil (French style Saison brewed with grapefruit zest and juice), Sam vs Unicorn Imperial Red Ale, Coffee Break Abduction, Ninja vs Unicorn, Citra Ninja, Raspberry Truffle Abduction, Imperial Chai Dog Milk Stout and 18th Street Galaxy Slayer.
OTA is not in the system yet at West Lakeview... so looks like it'll be tomorrow.
This batch of Marilime is awesome! Job well done! Gonna enjoy an OTA during the parade tomorrow!
Any OTA sitting around still, outta town and hoping to grab one after work Friday. Thanks in advance!
From my hunting, a lot of stores still hadnt received it yet as of yesterday, and I don't think vav's stash is public use yet, so I think you should be able to land some. I hope so because I've struck out so far.
OTA, Sold out at both Binnys Naperville and Downers Grove...the search continues.
Got mine yesterday at the Schaumburg Binnys around 11:00am. Might want to check there.
loyal faithful... if the cup is making it's rounds can you have some pipeworks beer on your person to possible give to the hawks and/or maybe drink it out of the cup... totally reasonable request.
Fischmans has a bunch of OTA. Just picked up a few bottles. Marilime and NvU as well.
West Lakeview had sold only four bottles of OTA out of many cases as of 2pm.
It's out there, got that and marilime in wicker park at my first stop!
And take pictures!
OTA is now sold out at Vas Foremost. I gave up the last bottle to some grateful dude. Hopefully I get beer karma for a month or something...
Great news on the galaxy hops, guys! I assume this means more Galaxy Unicorn, which should make my girlfriend's night.
Carcillo brought it onstage at the Rush concert, but for some reason they wouldn't let me up there to get near it.
....and hopefully yours as well
Just a heads up, one of the LP Binnys guys said OTA will be general availability on Tuesday.
Just was at Glen Ellyn Binny's and Pipeworks was there tasting come OTA, Centennial, NvU (this stuff and Citra Ninja blows me away every time) among other things.
OTA was really nice, a authentic orange taste that was faint but bright, if that makes sense. It was in the background but it had a little tang too it. Overall delicious and creamy with nice background of orange.
These guys are so nice. Bobby was there and had no problem entertaining my questions. Cool dudes + great beer.
Hate to double post, but forgot to mention (it might have already been mentioned), but Cherry Berliner is coming up in the future... so that's sweet!
it is? news to me. lol where do you get this info?
They have more connections than you Garrit
*Where is the delete button when you need it*
Must have misheard, we were talking about cherries and the Berliners, I'm not really sure. I had to many sips of NvU.
Edit: Can I report my own post. I might just do this. My internet face is as red as a Michigan Cherry!
Did anybody open the different batches of Raspberry Truffle to compare them? I'm just curious how different they were next to each, especially since the later batches had more raspberry.
Grapefruit saison!! That is exactly the beer I'm trying to drink when the weather is hot. Excited for that one.
I don't believe the new batch of RTA is out yet.
I think it was reference to the fact that two batches have already been produced, the next batch will be the third run of it.
Oh I actually didn't know there were 2 batches
