How early do they start handing out numbers for this? Is it a case where a line forms and then 30 minutes before it opens numbers get handed out?

The last farmers market I went to (Triple Sunshine release in June I think) my buddies and I arrived at the Mad Taco at 530am and were 35th in line

Did they give you a number at 5:30 though or did they come around closer to the start?

They start handing numbers out around 8am. Hundreds of people in line by that time

For that same one, three of us arrived at 6:30 am and were about 150 in line. They said they were going to start handing out numbers at 8 but they started a bit early because there were as many people in line as they had allotments of Triple Sunshine.

Even on 2 hours of sleep after the HF Parker's Pie event, I was so happy to try and get bottles of Triple Sunshine. Such an amazing beer. Just wanted to say that.

Gap between tickets and sale last year was significantly longer for the anniversary than the regular farmers markets. It's usually about 30-45 for the market, I think it was between 1 and 2 hrs for the anniversary sale. That said, there was really no need to get an early ticket for the anniversary. Everyone was able to get what they wanted to my knowledge

So it seems like production numbers are higher on the anniversary sales to accommodate the larger crowd?

I'll be arriving around 10-11 am

We went to the Alchemist can sale first and then headed to the line for Lawson's. We were around number 200 and could get whatever we wanted. I'm pretty sure they had more tickets than people that showed up. Everything ran super smoothly last year.

I would not make too many plans until the ticket info is released, just sayin'.

Looking forward to hearing the details as well. Apparently the ticketing system will be slightly different this year.

Folks keep referencing last years event and how smooth it went and how there was enough beer for everyone to get what they wanted. I passed on going last year based on how the previous years event went, and I think a lot of other people did too, which is why there was such a manageable turn out. After all the raving about how great last years event was and the endless supply of beer I'm sure the turnout for this year will be much larger. And with that tweet announcing Triple Sunshine's return that pretty much guarantees it.

All we can hope for now is some sort of giant mid-April nor'easter to keep the crowds manageable.

Agreed on the Triple Sunshine announcement. This pretty much ensures a shitshow. But alas I will likely be there.

Not really sure why people are saying it's going to be a shitshow. Last year's release of Triple Sunshine paired with the Hill Farmstead 4th Anniversary party AND an Alchemist Truck sale, both in nearby Waterbury, was anything BUT a shitshow. Granted the Lawson's release was earlier in the morning but I still don't think it'll be bad at all. All 3 of those events last year were extremely well run in my opinion.
