I'm heading up to VT in a week, plan on hitting up The Alchemist, Hillstead Farm and Prohibition Pig. Any info on Lawson's beers to look out for would be awesome, they are new to me.
Just go to the Warren store and get whatever they have on the shelf. At approx. 500 barrels a year, Lawson's is one of those breweries that enjoys the "get whatever is available" status, act accordingly.
Winooski beverage typically gets a shipment of beers in early Friday afternoon. Limit is usually 1 per person and even that sells out before most people get out of work a lot of days.
What day? If you are in the area on Saturday, I HIGHLY advise you check out the anniversary party. Details here: http://www.lawsonsfinest.com/
I'm headed up Friday.. can't wait! Lawson's shipment this week is going to be their Toast Black IPA. From my understanding, Warren Store gets deliveries Thursday and Hunger Mt. and Winooski get theirs Friday. I imagine they sell out on a weekly basis so I"m only expecting to find Toast on shelves (if I'm lucky). Really looking for Double Sunshine, but I doubt there are any left from last weeks deliveries. PS.. Its Hill Farmstead
Three Penny Taproom had Double Sunshine on tap throughout the past week. The list on their website hasn't been updated since Fri. AM though so I wouldn't be surprised if it kicked by the end of last night.
Asked this in another thread and didn't get a response, so I'll try my luck here. Trying to plan my VT trip in a couple weeks and wanted to know if anyone knew about when Hunger Mountain usually gets their Lawson's delivery on Fridays. Cheers!
Warren was a 30 min drive from Waterbury for me. They get shipment on Thursday. Had a few boxes when I got there you should be ok on Friday if you stop in. Check out crossroads in Waterbury too.
Of the three places you mentioned I would only go to Prohibition Pig it the Taplist warrants. Blackback and Reservoir are better bars to Lawson's When I was there the only bar to have Lawson's was The Reservoir. Blackback had 6 HF beers and the Prohibition Pig only had Edward and Tiny portion plates of food. The brisket sandwich was good but I was starving 40 minutes later - TINY.
These days a lot of Lawson's beers have been staying in the valley, it seems. We havn't had epic Lawson's lists in Waterbury like we did last summer. Thankfully there's still tons of Hill flowing.
Pretty much this. Last time I was there they had 5 HF and 3 Lawsons which was great. The food portions however were super small and highly overpriced IMO.
