"The next Montpelier Farmer's Market on March 15th will have a VERY LIMITED selection of beer. We do not recommend driving from hours away only for this event."

I'll be lucky enough to be nearby for the Farmers Market on the 15th. How does it work? I may be completely wrong, but can't you show up early and receive a number and then enjoy the rest of the market before picking up some bottles? If so, what is a recommended time to show up? I'll be at Sugarbush, but since I don't ski, I'll need to entertain myself.

If I am completely wrong about the setup, can someone please chime in and correct me?

    Thanks

From the blog, "This week's beer selection is Double Sunshine IPA."

Looks like I picked the wrong market to bring a group up for the weekend. Oh well, will be a fun time in Waterbury even with the market limitations.

Just attempted a co op trip at 11 am, only to find over a dozen dudes standing in front of the beer case, waiting to pounce the second DS hit the shelves. As a member-owner, I am annoyed, but its only beer. Oh well, maybe next time.

His blog said the Thursday deliveries would be later in the day. Wonder if the same thing happened on Friday and if they had a long wait....

Unfortunately this is the new world order for Vermonters and especially for those of us that can't get off of work and spend the day hanging around the beer cooler at the Coop, The Bevy, Warren Store, etc. Hopefully next time will work out for you.

Lawson's hit the winooski bev at normal time. Only a few folks waiting but at least the delivery truck was outside already. First time I've seen people waiting in a while though.

Exactly, the good old days are gone, but there's always next time. I guess it's the price we pay for living in the candyland of beer.

The nice consolation for Vermonters is that you can go have some Heady, HF and Lawson's on tap at a number of restaurants. I know I completely enjoyed the Double Sunshine on tap today despite not being able to buy any at the store.

We got to Hunger Mountain on Friday at 1130am. Missed DS, but snagged a Backacre Golden Sour as consolation.

The good news is that there are lots of great out of state beers available in Vermont. Today I arrived too late for the Alchemist release but did score a couple of 4-packs of Jacks Abby Mass Rising from CBC in Waterbury. IMO, it's just as tasty as anything that the "Big 3" are brewing.
