The only people who need more than 1 case are probably bootlegging the beer illegally.

Funny that ppl are fine with three week old SOS delivered as "fresh" but if it was Boom Sauce, then off with the owner/brewer's head!!

I, too, was surprised to see a fresh SOS delivery at CBC/Waterbury on 1/20 and cans are dated 12/29.

To OP: ha, funny you bring this up. On 1/20, got last 4pack of the case for SOS and Heady; grabbed SOS cardboard case to hold both but thought it kindof flimsy, so I put back and used the sturdier Heady box.

On the other hand, Lawson's gets props for using proper soft plastic rings that you can actually pull the can off of rather than the rigid black plastic ones that Alchemist and 14th State use. It's my Headys that are always all dented to hell after I finally manage to wrestle them loose from the packaging.

Ugh, I know, right? And while we're at it, Negra Modelo called and they want their neck foil back. There. I said it.

I have noticed that Lawson's has been skimping on packaging costs for a few years now.

During one of Lawson's sales at the Waitsfield Farmers Market, I bought a case of foiled bottles and the "Sombrero Guy" put my beers inside a thin and flimsy cardboard box that wound up breaking before I completed my three minute walk to my car. He told me to be careful with the box because it was, "real sketchy," but I could not help but wonder why Lawson's felt the need to be so cheap on packaging costs.

A similar thing happened with the Sip of Sunshine bomber cases in 2014. During their first retail shipment to Vermont, the handle on the cardboard case broke during the transport between the beer cooler and my car. The same thing has happened in the past when I was handed a Double Sunshine box filled with beers. It made me wonder how often Lawson's bottles get dropped on the retail end.

OP is correct, the cardboard cases for the Sip of Sunshine cans certainly do bend, fold, and rip very easily. I could see how frustrating this issue could be for people working on the retail side.
