Lawson's SOS CT Lookout Thread

I'm going to be in Windsor for work tomorrow (traveling from Worcester). I'm not familiar with the area. Are there any places I would be able to grab SOS either in the Windsor area or in the way?

 

Just got SoS at Harvest in west Hartford. Just sitting in the cooler.

 

Driving thru CT tomorrow. Any recent spottings or any advice for finding Lawson's SOS. I'm not familiar with the area so any advice would be greatly appreciated

 

I have a four pack for you in my fridge. It's about two weeks old. I am 10 miles south of Hartford. The only problem is I am not home until 4:00 pm. BM if interested. I am right off 84 and 9.

 

If traveling up to CT from NJ, what's my best strategy to get my hands on some Sip?

 

Trading or luck. Unless your timing is flexible and you can drive through the day it drops, which will probably be next monday or the monday after. If you are in CT on the right day it is very easy to find.

 

I will second what Evmo says above. If it is the right day it is pretty easy to find, but you won't find it unless it is the day it drops.

 

Sure, choose a random day out of the next three weeks. Totally easy to find. Sorry for the sarcasm. But deliveries have been sporadic. If you are local it is easier to find cause you can monitor this thread but trying to plan to get some is damn near impossible.

 

I don't find anything about locating SOS to be easy. I've given up hunting for it. I happened to stumble upon it last week, but other than that, it's been really frustrating. I either miss it, or find a place that will sell 1 can for $5+. Nope. It's a great beer, but not worth the hassle to me.

 

Well it IS possible to get lucky...

I was in Berlin CT today for work (rehab on Amtrak station), and stopped at the first packey off the highway.

Truck had just shown up with Sea Hag and there was plenty of Lawson's Session #2 in the cooler. Manager interrupted his unloading of the truck and brought me in a 6er of Hag.

No, it's not Ghandi & SoS, but pretty darn good haul for 10:30 on a Tuesday. Berlin Spirits gets 5 stars from me.

 

Sounds like it's dropping today. Keep an eye out

I'm going to be in the Hartford area today for a couple days, it seems that SoS drops are relatively sporadic so I won't bother asking what my chances of picking any up are, however if there are any decent bottle shops in Hartford county I'd love to know about them, cheers!

 

You might be able to find some today since it just dropped. Just remember most stores keep it in back and you have to ask for it. I don't know of many stores up there.

 

Most of the ones near me get 1 case for the entire store and are gone within minutes so not even bothering unless I stumble across it. I like showing up at somewhere like TH, Trillium and others and knowing I have guaranteed cans.

 

Go to Kay's in East Hartford. Per their Facebook page, they'll have SoS and Captain's Daughter at about 3:30. You'll need to ask for them and you'll probably only get 2 each, but you don't need a secret handshake or anything. They have a great craft beer selection and they're very friendly/knowledgeable.

There's also a Captain Lawrence tasting there tonight from 4-7.

 

Anyone hear of a drop any time soon?

 

I haven't, but I bought both SoS and SS last Friday. SoS was in the back (my second back room buy on this drop), SS was on the shelf, so they were both still around.
