Lawson's SOS CT Lookout Thread

got the last SoS 4-pack in Berlin Spirits this morning. 9/16 canning.

I did see that a fresh batch of Flaxen Foal by Relic was on the shelves around CT and that is a damn good CT-brewed IPA.

 

Any recent hits? Fairfield county?

 

Picked some up at Kays Wines in East Hartford. Grabbed some Coneflakes, and other goodies too if anybody is looking in Hartford County.

 

2 pack? A two horned black unicorn? Wish such a break up didn't even exist. Sick of "break ups" and self chosen "artificial/arbitrary" broken mix packs.. That's an under 25 thing. If such a thing, let me break up (my choice) a 4 or 6 pack. Minimum 10% mark up to boot. Tired of package store "split and gouge"!

 

Monday is the rumor

 

No hijack intended but rather than hunt an admittedly great brew, isn't it more economical and efficient to just pick up Gandhi (refuse to acknowledge "name change"), BFD and a superb run of Locust Reign, every bit SOS equal, in one fell swoop?

 

Not everyone is that close to Nebco. For me Tree house is closer. I'm also not sure about Nebco's can offerings. That said I would rather go to nebco than hunt out sip. I'm not even that big a fan of g-bot. Hag is a different story. Due to the quality, price, and availability that stuff will always have a soft spot for me.

 

Absolutely. I only ask bc I travel from Boston so it's usually worth a look to try and grab SOS.

 

I buy SoS by the case - often two at a time. And it's been readily available for months now (for the most part). Just got to know a guy who knows a guy. And isn't this what the the beer forum is all about? Getting to know the guys who know the guys behind the guys (...what did that even mean?)

10/14 cans just dropped today in Hartford county

 

I got 10/14 cans at Caraluzzi's in Bethel over the weekend.

 

Any suggestions to look near Glastonbury? Headed down for a soccer game Saturday and I was hoping to try to hit a few places up in the area.

Last time I stopped in the Smashed Grape and they had SS2, so I figured I'd at least try there.
Wouldn't mind stumbling on to some SOS or some NEBCo offerings, it has been awhile since I have had Sea Hag.

Any suggestions?

 

Putnam Plaza Super liquors. Cooler in front has the limited stuff. No secret handshake needed.

Center liquors has a nice selection too imo.

 

M&R down the street from Putnam also puts it on the shelf now... They just had it Thursday (I think it was Thursday) so don't expect to find it this week, or on any Saturday for that matter.

 

Anyone seen anything in Fairfield lately?
Feel like its been forever. Even my beer store guy was complaining how little has come around lately.
