I just picked up some SoS dated 11/08, and I dont know if anything has changed with the batch, but my first can poured completely clear, and a darker copper color?

 

It is probably a bad can. If it is darker it is probably oxidized.

 

I hate to steal some CT SOS but I'm hoping to get some next Tuesday 11/22 as I'm driving through to boston. Can anyone give up a few places worth calling or stopping at, Cheers!

 

It's all luck. No one knows when it's coming in until day before/day of.

 

Are you passing thru with anything FT? I have a 4 pack and some Treehouse I'd be willing to part with for a quick IP trade. I have to work on Tuesday but I can prob jump out of work for a bit if you're coming through the West Hartford area.

 

Sorry to drag this thread back (or maybe not)... I haven't been hunting in SOS in a long time but have been craving a can lately. Does anyone know when it might drop again in Hartford County? From the Lawson's facebook page, it seems that they are distributing ~ 2x per month for SOS in CT.

Also, I would like to try and buy some from a store that supports putting it out for purchase and not having to play the games of hiding it in the backroom or knowing the secret handshake. In the past I would always go to Harvest Country Store or Harvest Wine & Spirits in West Hartford (great stores and great guys), but I am no longer in that area anymore. I am in Manchester for work and splitting after work time between Simsbury and Wethersfield, so if anyone has a recommendations for bottle shops/beer stores that just put Sip on the shelf when it comes in, I would appreciate recommendations for those areas, I'll even through Glastonbury in there because it is such a short ride for me across the route 3 bridge. I believe all major liquor stores received Sip today in the Hartford Area.

 

In general, how long does it last? Driving through tomorrow night and back through Wednesday afternoon and would love to get a few cans.

 

I live in Simsbury and work in Glastonbury and can say that most places in both areas now put it on the shelf. In Glastonbury, M&R and Putnam plaza put it on the shelf, though at Putnam it's in the little front cooler and more expensive than M&R. I also like to support the guy at Kamans (across from Whole Foods), he bought it from Sonoma and it's a much better place now, good guy, nice beer selection. Things tend to last a little longer there because he's under the radar. Same thing for Valley in Simsbury, they put on shelf, not sure of the smaller places.

Is anyone putting Sip on the shelf in Fairfield County?

 

Really hard to say...I haven't been pursuing it in a while but saw it was a 11/29 canning and bought 2-4packs. The place I go keeps In back so you have to ask. They had 3 cases of it as of this AM.

 

Called all of the places mentioned recently in the thread and no dice for my drive through CT today. Maybe it was because I didn't give anyone a secret passcode. Or it really does sell out in a day or two.

 

It really does sell out same day almost consistently. Hit Hartford County Monday and Tuesday.

 

It was most likely gone before you got there.

 

Update: I called Harvest Country Store as suggested by bwparker1 (later in the day after they told me they might be getting some in - didn't have my hopes up on it though), and the guy Mark there was super cool and didn't give me the brush off, which was awesome. They did get some in and I was able to get some. He also mentioned a new brewery to watch for, New Park, which I will be on future trips once they are up and running. Harvest Country Store got a new customer whether they have Sip or not. Thanks again bwparker1.

 

My store in Cromwell just got some - canned 11/8

Sea Hag from 11/25 too.

 

picked up 12/27 canned Sip at Berlin Spirits yesterday. Don't know if it had survived the weekend or if there was a Monday delivery.

my "good customer" purchase (aka the 6 pack I bring to the counter so I can have an excuse to ask the guy if he has Sip in the back) was Otter Creek Free Flow IPA, which is a damn fine IPA @ $10/6 pack

 

Free Flow is very good, I agree.
