Heading to my first farmers market in hopes of landing some Lawson's.
Any veteran farmers market ba's have any pointers?
Do I need to get there at the crack of dawn to get a ticket?
    Long lines?
    Always sell out?

    Thanks!

Yeah, if you are talking about this weekend Id expect lots and lots of people, more so than normal (which is lots of people). Mad Taco / farmers market will pretty much be everyone's first stop of a very busy beer day!

Damn, I was foolishly thinking that the hf event would thin the crowds :/

Quite the opposite, imo. Since there isn't a party at the farm, I cant imagine everyone and their mothers (literally) wont be hitting up Waitsfield bright and early before hitting the bars / truck sale.

Its tough to say, if you don't get there super early; you'll be waiting around while for your ticket number to be up. I know many people will be arriving at the crack of dawn.

There will be lines for tickets, but once tickets are handed out; they ask you don't wait around the booth, it may be a few hours wait until your # is called, they have a great ticketed system down. Lot of vendors, food, music to check out while you wait.

They do not always sell out, but I anticipate they will; there is a ton of hype on this one. Many farmers markets, they start to slow down towards the end and they relax bottle limits, but I don't think that will be the case this week. Could be wrong though, for their 6th Anniversary party they had a ton left over that they put in stores the following weeks (there was also Alchemist pop up and HF event that weekend as well)

    Good luck, see you there!!

    • Early arrivals (before 9am) - PLEASE do not park around the perimeter of the Mad River Green where the market is held. These areas are essential to vendors unloading and setting up for the market.
    • We have a deli-style number system in place and will begin handing out numbered tickets at 8:00am at the Mad Taco in Waitsfield. At 9am, beer ticket hand-outs will move to the market area. LOOK FOR THE MAN IN THE LAWSON'S SOMBRERO! These numbers will be on an order form with the list of beers and bottle limits so that you can have your order ready (please fill out the form). There is a schedule on the reverse side with the approximate time window to visit our table. We have a lighted LED number sign that is visible from a distance with the current number being served. If you miss your number, you may get into line at the table to be served.
    • Plan to wait at least 1-2 hours after collecting your number before your turn arrives. Plan to shop at the other vendors who will be offering an amazing selection of farm fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, breads, baked goods, crafts, gifts, maple syrup, and much more!
    • Please do not wait at or near our table. The market has a limited amount of space, and unless you are actively shopping at other vendors or enjoying some of the prepared foods and beverages at the tables in the green, then you are blocking other customer's access to vendors at the market.
    • Beer sales begin at 9am. At the summer outdoor market, we also offer glassware, including our new 16oz Willi Becher, 16oz Pint, and 13oz Belgian-style Tulip, and all glasses will be specially priced at $6 each including VT Sales Tax!
    • Lawson's Finest does not accept credit cards. Cash or local check only. Thank you.

I went up in February and the line started forming at 7am for tickets. Once we got our tickets we were able to get the beer later on in the day without worrying if they would sell out.

And Ava is gone, just Triple Sunshine left. But truthfully that's all I wanted so I don't mind. But some folks seem a little distraught.

The ticket numbers went much faster than I anticipated so I am guessing they got ahead of their suggested times that were on each ticket. In the past they took my ticket and then packed a box for me, this time they had full allotment boxes ready to go. I think that really sped up the process. I had ticket 132, which fell in the 10:30-10:45 range. Got there at 10:40 and they were serving 182! So if they use the pre-pack system next time I would advise people be there earlier than the advised times (unless they adjust those).
