So next Friday, I'll be at LAX and was wondering if anyone has flown out of there recently and is aware of what beer choices are available while waiting. Particularly, terminal 4 - American Airlines!

    Thanks!

Not much in terminal 4 unfortunately - but there is a Kogi truck so be sure and get your fix!

LAX is a shithole. The new international terminal and the Kogi truck are the only things good there, until 2075 when they finish fixing everything and the Metro line comes in.

Don't forget you got Three Weavers and ESBC nearby for a quick fix. Rock n Brews inside Tom Bradley.

Golden Road is setting up a point the way cafe soon in terminal 4. Basically terminal 4 is the only one I generally go to. While the taps may not be that crazy, the kogi truck, the burger place next door to it and a few other spots make it worthy of a wait before you get on a plane.

I'm taking this thread far off topic but I have to ask what's behind the Virgin statement.

Virgin America is the best. But that terminal is the worst for food options.

Virgin America is the worst. They have the absolute worst customer service of any airline. I guess people really like the purple lights on the planes. Aside from that, everything about their company is horseshit. I've never experienced worse attitude from people working in customer service.

This was my recent experience with them:

    excerpt:

Me: You just lost a customer for life.
    Manager: I don't care.

Anything in Terminal 2 or 3 ? Arriving on JetBlue (Terminal 3) and then flying Hawaiian (Terminal 2) to Maui. Thank you!

ETA: just looked at the maps and 2 and 3 look awful, for both food and beer. I have a little over 2 hours between my flights, what do folks suggest for a meal+beer that isn't Burger King or Starbucks?

Brewsters at Sheraton Four Points. Obviously not in a terminal, but right there.

You could Uber it over to Three Weavers (10 minutes) or to ESBC (10-15minutes). Quickly down a couple of glasses. Uber it back to T4. Go stand in line for TSA. Maybe wishing you had used the bathroom one more time before getting back in line. Get through security and rushing back to your gate after using the bathroom. Or you could walk over to T5 and hit up Rock and Brews. http://www.rockandbrews.com/location/lax-terminal-5/ Sit down and enjoy a meal and sip on a few beers. Walk back over to T4 and chill out before your flight. I believe the underground walkway is still open. You don't have to go through security. I would grab a bite at Kogi and then head over for some craft at Rock and Brews.

10 a.m. flight? I'm not even sure if there will be places in LAX that would serve alcohol that early. Although to be fair, I never thought to get something to drink that early at an airport.

I got a Presidente at the Miami airport at 5:30am once with a Cuban breakfast sandwich. It was awesome.

I love LA, but I agree, that airport is a real shit hole. For anyone looking to go off-site and come back, beware, last time I was there a couple of weeks ago traffic in and around the airport was terrible. Also, I looked at Rock n Brews, seemed to be a sea of BMC with very limited craft options.

Traffic in and out of the airport is generally terrible. It might be less terrible depending on the day and time you're there but your expectation should be that it will be terrible. I'm not sure I would bother trying to go outside the airport if you only have two hours between your flights.
