LCBO 2013 Fall/Halloween/Quebec Feature Craft Beer Release

any news on any fall (maybe oktoberfest) or holiday gift pack releases, I love collecting beer glasses and don't know anywhere to buy cool labelled glasses so the lcbo releases are usually where i get my glasses from

Also picked up Hennepin 4-pack. Never seen that down here previously. Wasn't even on the radar.

Any Black Butte sightings yet?

 

Since you're new to Ottawa and Canada, don't be afraid to check out Gatineau for beer. It's REALLY different than Ontario.

 

Thanks, and yes I've heard it could be cheaper on the Quebec side...I have my eye on 2 places: Bieres Du Monde and Rapido Corner Store. Both websites look very promising

 

It's not cheaper unless you want BMC, but there's not much Quebec beer distro into Ontario and you should absolutely get into that scene. Those are the two stores I've been frequenting the most in the last few months, but there's also Broue Ha Ha that's really good as well. Check out L'autre Oeil when you go to Bieres Du Monde and Rapido. It's like halfway between them, and by far my favourite bar in the whole Ottawa area.

 

Keep in mind that prices on the Quebec side are before tax and deposit. The real values are over there are Unibroue and some St Ambroise.

 

I'd like another chance at the Sam Smith Organic Chocolate. I bought one and oops, fell and shattered on the pavement

Black Butte would be nice too.

 

Any idea if Deschutes will hit as stores in next two weeks? Heading to Rochester and would pick some up in Brockville (if it makes it there).

No Black Butte in Ottawa yet, but the Xmas gift packs are on the shelves and some holiday beers are showing up.

I just bought my annual stock of Cuvée Van de Keizer Blauw.

Some of the usual suspects, but some interesting new packs available too...

 

Black Butte has hit my area, but I already think people are on it.
4 left at one spot, 9 at another. Yikes.... looks like I have errands to run at lunch.

 

Grabbed more than a few Black Buttes at lunch.
Also going to give the following a try:
Sawdust Uranus
Beau's Tom Green
Kissmeyer
and another kick at the Mill St Vanilla Porter can

 

Black Butte are in KW - there was a bunch at the Conestoga LCBO, and the LCBO lists some at Uptown and Highland Road as well.

I only picked up one Bruttes, but there were about 8 on the shelf when I went. Didn't really know the hype behind it before I bought it, so I stuck with one.
