I have my parents muling a few beers already from Ottawa. My sister does the buying and I already have King Heffy, Dominus Vobiscum Saison, Cuvée des Jacobins & 3M Hopfenwiesse coming. Are these any other beers I haven't noticed that I should get? I was thinking maybe the Goose Island releases, but I have a few already... Is there anything worth requesting in stores right now?
You should get them to hit the Quebec side of the river and get some Quebec craft beers as well. DDC,Dunham, Charlevoix, Hopfenstark, Trou du Diable, etc are all available.
I know what's out there, and they have done that too, I'm just trying to find some beers in the LCBO I haven't heard of through posts here. Like for example is this beer worth getting: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/3912/93797 ?
How long are they here for? GLB Miami Weiss is slowly rolling out...though I don't expect we get it in Ottawa for a few weeks at least. There's a location here by the airport that still has 3 bottles of Amsterdam Tempest (has about 7-8 months on it now). You could try and get a bottle of Nickel Brook Naughty Neighbour with this code - 345975. There's Beau's Festivale Plus and Strong Patrick. The Renaissance stuff seems to be scattered around a bit, but is at most LCBO's I frequent. Bush Pilot Stormy Monday. Should still be some of the Dupont feature kicking around. Not sure what's available in Manitoba, but there's some suggestions. Maverick & Gose would have been nice, but either Amsterdam isn't sending it or it's a typical Ottawa release from them and will show up in three months. Also Beyond The Pale releases bottles from time to time. They're open this weekend, you would have to watch their Twitter feed for anything.
That one is okay...it's worth a try. I would suggest that you have them look for the RPA over that one though.
Heh, that's what I get for assuming things. And I was gonna stop in to tomorrow, too. And for OP, some other random things I remembered that are kinda sorta new to the LCBO: Black Oak 10 Bitter Years, Sawdust City Lone Pine, Spearhead Moroccan Brown, are all at the very least worth a try
Paralle49l Unparalleled Mixed Pack Mikkeller Canadian Dream Trou du Diable Shawinigan Handshake Trois Mousquetaires Hopfenweisse Dominus Vobiscum Saison Cuvee de Jacobins Panil Bariquee Sawdust City Lonepine IPA Check out drinkvine so you can figure out what's available at the store most convenient for them.
Hasn't been updated in a while by their standards. None of the 3F stuff showed up on there to my knowledge.
