LCCB 2 year anniversary

Nice, I've been looking at some of the Untappd check ins, I'm definitely going to be hunting for a bottle of The Source when it hits distro. I would have liked to try the stouts, but I'm up to my neck in stouts and high-abv beers right now, they're beers that I buy way more often than I drink. Like I said before though, I probably will try to come down for the rum barrel version, I think Illuminatos was by far the best Despot variant they did.

 

Y'all think the Source will start hitting distro next week or maybe after that? Would be very grateful for a heads-up from someone either in this thread or via pm or whatever when it starts to drop. Got some buddies from RVA coming down next weekend and would love to see if they can snag one to bring with them. I've really enjoyed the few LCCB beers I've had and this one sounds great.

 

Spot on. The Raspberry & Chocolate Decadence was my favorite and I also did not expect The Source to be as good as it was. I was expecting your standard IPA with blueberry flavor but this was more like liquid blueberries with hops. Definitely the highlights. They sold out of The Source a little after 1pm and the Decadence bottles were still available a little after 2 but it sounds like those were gone shortly after I left. They produced 2k The Source and I am curious how many they held back for sale yesterday. Did not expect that to sell out before the 500 Decadence bottles.

@CavemanRamblin I would think The Source will hit shops this week. One of the bottle shops in C'Ville received some on Friday so it's probably already being moved out. Three Notch'd does self distro so it should be sooner rather than later.

 

Disregard the self distro comment. I forgot the bottles were coming from LCCB not Three Notch'd.

 

I though the Source was pretty bad. The Raspberry Coffee Decadence tasted like lip gloss (also horrible). Both of those beers, the fruit flavor tasted completely artificial. The Coffee Decadence was decent, the Chocolate Decadence was excellent. So for us a mixed bag. First time at Lickinghole, was a lot of fun. Wished I lived closer than two hours away.

 

I'm in the same boat with you. I have to be really committed to a release and hope that it's spot on when making the trek.

 

When it was time to get my Decadence allocation, they were out of The Source bottles.

Luckily for me, an awesome guy gave me a sip of it. T'was pretty fun (very blueberry forward, with the hops only there to balance), but I wasn't sad I missed out on it. Also luckily for me, most LCCB stuff not named Enlightened Despot tends to sit on the shelves of VA bottle shops.
