    This years is really amazing. they nailed it. My wife is like a tiger protecting her cubs over this freaking stuff.

    The thing that really sucks is I have seen this happen at many releases over time.
    For example;
    KBS 07 = no one there
    KBS 08 = 3 people in line myself included
    KBS 09 = tons of people and sold out later in the day (2:30PM)
    KBS 2010 = insanity but with planning could get beer (I Skipped it)
    KBS 2011 = way too many pissed off venom spewing people

    I have a feeling the 150 - 200 people that got shut out this year at Ithaca will be in line at 6am next year.
    This = sucks!

    6am, but how many days before release day? i wonder how many people will celebrate NYE on line? honestly, that would probably be a better party than most NYE i've had that didn't include PHiSh.

    Is this conversation really still going on? Come on people... It's just beer.

    I was one of the many who attended the release but were not able to buy bottles. Am I upset? You betcha! Am I going to blame beer hoarders, traders, mules, or the brewery itself? No.

    The fact is, I didn't get there in time to buy the beer. Yeah, it sucks, and Ithaca could have lowered the allotment per person, or given out tickets, or whatever, but I missed it.

    We all hate hearing from the guys that actually got bottles, telling us how we "should have gotten their earlier", but they are right. Past releases have no bearing on future releases.

    Yeah, it's a bummer losing a whole day of your life for nothing. But I'm sure we have all had worse life experiences than missing out on a few beers.

    So... cheers to next year!

    I know of plenty of places that sent a worker to grab a case for their store/restaurant/bar. All of them reputable, I think it's okay to do for some reason. Like you can go pick up kegs from Cpt. Lawrence and the like.

    I know the guy who runs the beverage center and thats exactly what he does. I'm not sure of the legality but he regularly has Captain Lawrence on tap and sends guys to pick things up that he can't get through his distributors. This has allowed him to have a great craft beer selection which I hope is legal because its a great store and he's very passionate about craft beer.

    Is this a thing that people still do? Drive hundreds of miles and wait in line at 6 AM for a 750 mL bottle of beer, the quality of which is unknown? Even if you knew it was a great beer, you couldn't find an equally good beer within a few miles of your home to enjoy while relaxing with friends? So strange.

    Sour blueberry beer? No I can't. :grinning: And Heady and Pliny may be (stress may be) "equally good" but that doesn't mean I just want to drink one and not the other just because one is local.

    FYI, I did not drive to this event, and both of those IIPA's are not local, just trying to make a point. I'm in FL and drive 4 hours to CCB for their releases though, lol, and I get there damn early too.
