if I received a corked and caged bottle that has obviously leaked a little bit does that mean that the cork has been compromised and the beer is no good? It only looks like a few ounces but wasn't sure.

I'd drink it sooner rather than later. I had a Fantasia freeze & leak in my fridge. Carbonation definitely took a hit but it was delicious. I thought it was probably a drain pour but it was actually very enjoyable.

Once a bottle has leaked it's very vulnerable to oxidation & will lose carbonation which is why I'd drink it asap. Beer doesn't really spoil in the way that food does.
