Rounding out the bottom of my list are Saisons and Lambics. I appreciate the history and brewing methods, but they arent for me.

I don't really get Saisons....witbier + belgian pale ale = saison. The way lambics are made is pretty cool, but it's for people who don't like to drink beer.

I would have to go with Wheat Wines. I just don't get the style, I have tried many examples and I always fine them lacking.

Only tried one Wheatwine (Smuttynose), since the style is pretty recent. It was way too much and too heavy. Not paying $22 for Sweet Repute. I think that Wheatwine will do great in barrels (bourbon, port, apple brandy, etc.)

Stouts. I keep forcing myself to try 'em because they're so friggin' popular but I can't enjoy coffee-flavored beer. Maybe my brain just associates the taste of coffee with groggy mornings at my desk.

I can drink & enjoy most any style of beer, but I have the hardest time with BIG Belgian styles. Yes I've had & appreciated dubbels & quads, but they would never ever be my go-to. I don't mind Belgian yeast, most of the time, but these big dark Belgians are just not for me. Too boozy & sweet.

A few weeks later and I have Brooklyn Monster (2012) and Weyerbacher Insanity under my belt. I can now eliminate barleywines from my original list, as I deeply enjoy the style.

Have since had Alesmith Wee Heavy, it was delicious! Also had Golden Road Burning Bush, a smoked ipa, and Stone Smoked Porter with Vanilla. Enjoyed the smokiness of both! Funny how palates change over time.

Providence, I was a bit rushed in my post, so I wasn't able to really go into detail about the one-dimensional lagers I was referring to. I agree with you that there are some great American lagers out there. I referring to mass-production, middle of the road, broad market American lagers. Craft lagers are much more exciting and deserving of attention. Cheers, mate.

I'm not fond of Tripels, Hefeweizens, and German Pilsners. I used to love all three styles but now I just can't get into them. Although I do make sure that I drink a few of each style every year to make see if my palate agrees more with these styles again.

I also wish all the sour haters would just not buy them so that I can drink them when I want. It is ridiculous when people on a site called Beer Advocate talk about a style of beer not tasting like beer. That's the kind of thing that Bud light drinkers say to me when I ask them to try a stout or an IPA.

Profoundly floral, excessively-hopped IPA's/DIPA's. Tastes like I'm drinking cheap cologne and destroys my palate to try & taste any other style in one session. And the burps are icky perfume all over again.
