I'm heading to Leesburg, VA in a few weeks. Seems like there are a good amount of breweries in town and in the area. Any that are can't-miss? -Harren
Wheatland Spring is about 20 minutes away and would be my choice of breweries out in that direction. Idyllic location, great beers in multiple styles.
Been a while since I've been up there but Crooked Run and Black Hoof are well deserved stops in the immediate Leesburg area. Never been to Wheatland Springs but agree with @RKP1967 People give them glowing reviews for both beer and property. if you head that way definitely Adroit Theory as well. Never visited their taproom but have enjoyed just about everything Ive had from them the past few years.
I'll second/third the votes above. In downtown Leesburg I'd go to Crooked Run, Dynasty and Black Hoof. These are all a few blocks apart and an easy walk. None of them offer food but there are plenty of restaurants near by. Black Walnut is decent and close to the others. If you're up for a short drive into a more rural area, Wheatland Springs is worth the visit. You could also go eastward and hit up Solace and Ocelot.
This is perfect, thanks everyone! Edit: The house we're staying at is actually closer to Wheatland Springs. We'll stop there first and then head downtown.
Came here to say go to Wheatland Spring. Lagers and saisons are probably their strengths. IPAs are good but more balanced, not leaning hard in juice or going for WC either. Nothing over the top, all well made. They have sandwiches, idyllic outdoor space as has already been said. Prices will be higher than other breweries. If you're going to drive around the area a bit, Ocelot's like 15-20 minute drive away in Sterling. More hop and stout forward with some good lagers as well. That would also take you out of Leesburg if you intend to spend time getting to know the immediate area.
