Let me preface this by saying that they're both damn fine stouts.

But having just tried the regular stout, I think I have to give the edge to the Nitro. I feel like the sweetness comes through a lot better, and needless to say it puts up no fight whatsoever going down--smooth as all hell. I was surprised by how roasty the non-nitro was, and while it's a great beer, it's ironically less of a quintessential milk stout, to my taste at least. But it seems I'm in the minority, because the Nitro's sitting on shelves all over the place around here, and most of the regular is gone.

I'm interested to know what other people think.

I've had both, both are delicious. I've had the pleasure of having the regular on draft. But my vote goes to the nitro. The smoothness is mind-blowing.

    Wouldn't it be N2/CO2 ? I'm just being a jerk.

Nitro. Mouth feel is out of this world.

Nitro = Amazing for Black n Tans. If you're layering at least.

And yeah, Nitro is good times, cause the mouthfeel is dyno-MITE!

    Lame.

I've had both and if given a choice, I'd pick the nitro. I like the fuller mouthfeel and, let's face it, the entertainment value of watching the foam rising the glass is worth it.

Regular for sure. Never been a big fan of Nitro beers - great mouthfeel but it loses flavor in my opinion

I am not usually a fan of nitro but this beer is the exception. With the sweetness of this beer, the creaminess the nitro adds really works.

I can't help but worry that people pour the nitro bottles wrong. Uncap the bottle, turn the bottle completely vertical. Pour it straight down the center. The bottled Nitro is awesome.

Pleasantly surprised by all the love for Nitro. Purely in the interests of science, I have consumed two more Nitros and one more CO2 to back up my findings, a Sucks and a FIS in celebration of my findings, and am currently drinking a Honker's Ale because all that celebration made me thirsty.
