I have been letting a Wake Up Dead that was bottled and bought in October of 2010 age and I was wondering if anyone knew or had any experience with aging this. Any year is fine, just curious if this will turn out good or if it's already past its prime. Thanks in advance.

I thought it was horrible fresh, and I couldn't imagine it would be any more horrible aged. I mean horrible. Worst beer of 2011 for me.

Yea, I thought it was that bad. Gave me a headache.

Left Hand just needs to stick to making Milk Stout and thats that.

Worst? Wow. I tried some fresh and didn't think it was too good so I thought aging it might help. Maybe not. Their Milk Stout is good especially the Nitro.

Some of these are extremely infected. I had one hell of an experience with one.

Infected? What do you mean? Is it a problem with this year or does it just vary?

The first bottles didn't get very good reviews, from any region of the country.

Edit: Sorry, thinking about the barrel-aged version.

I'd agree that Wake up Dead is a horrible beer. TNT was also a disaster. They have had some really nice seasonal releases that I wish they'd make year round like Fade to black vol 2, Smoke Jumper, and twin sisters DIPA.

So the aging probably didn't do much for this. Damn, oh well at least I have some Goose Island stored away. Left Hand is really a hit or miss for me.
