I enjoyed Duet a lot, just not right for this discussion. I have had Pure Hoppiness and it is very nice, not as good as HT, HF Galaxy, Kern Citra and others as mentioned.

Pure Hoppiness would beat Gandhi-Bot easily, but not the rest of the list.

For a drier, less malty D/IPA, you might want to check out Sculpin.

I find Hop Wallop, Double Jack, and this year's batch of Double Trouble all to have pronounced malt profiles. Just shows how everyone's perception differs. I love that about beer.

    Can't go wrong with Sculpin.

Nope, nothing like super fresh Sculpin.

    Stone Ruination
Short's Liberator (Short's is Michigan only, I believe, and this one is seasonal)
Heady Topper (I thought this was sort of a hoppy mess in a lot of ways, but it isn't malty at all)
    Surly Abrasive

According to cavedave it’s a freshness issue wrt Hopsickle:

“I'm a hops fanatic, so don't go by my predilection necessarily, but there are few less malty IIPA's than fresh Hopsickle”

I agree with many of the suggestions. I'll add Central Waters Illumination to the mix. Not malty at all, very dry and piney and one that is readily available to those of us in the Midwest now. I believe it's seasonal.

    Deschutes Hop Henge
    FW Double Jack
    Founders Double Trouble
Hair of the Dog Blue Dot
    Lagunitas Hop Stoopid
    Laughing Dog Alpha Dog
    Port Hop 15
    Stone Ruination
    Victory Hop Wallop

For price considerations and available, I'd hit Flying Dog's Raging Bitch and Snakedog. Doubledog is great as well, but I remember a certain malt backbone to that you may dislike. The belgian yeast in the Raging Bitch really helps with the hops and alcohol heat while bringing down any malt presence.

This is a great thread. Although I appreciate both hop-oriented and balance oriented DIPA's, there are times where I just want to scape my tongue to shreds in full on hop glory!

You will have to come to metro-Detroit to get it, but Kuhnhenn DRIPA is precisely what you need. Though not a dipa, Crooked Tree from Dark Horse is extremely hop-forward with no cloying character.

Steel Toe Brewing Size 7 has not been mentioned but this fits your criteria. Sheltowee Hop-A-Lot IPA and Boy King too.

Lagunitas Hop Stoopid is all about the hops and it will numb the palate a bit! Pliny is dry and balanced but I don't get a lot of hop flavor. FW Double Jack is a good compromise. Malty without being cloying and some great citrusy hops.
