I thought I would share a story for your entertainment. I've never cellared a ton of beer, maybe 3 cases tops at any one time. It always stayed in the garage because it is semi underground, cool, and no windows. Lately I've been drinking down the cellar and what little was left was recently relocated to a dedicated shelf in the wine fridge in the kitchen. So last night the wife and I went out for a date night and the kids stayed home with Grammy (who will only drink craft beer but isn't particularly knowledgeable about what she is drinking). I got home last night and my last 2007 DFH Raison d'Extra is empty on the counter. I had been saving the last one for when the beer was due to be released again for the fun of trying it next to a fresh one. It never occurred to me that there would be a situation where someone would be having a beer at my house without me there to say drink this not that. The only saving grace is she positively LOVED it and was raving about how it was liquid dessert and best beer she has had in a long time. I guess it was an early Mother's Day present. I am glad it was her and not someone who wouldn't appreciate it and drain pour it.
So I guess FWIW the '07 Raison d'Extra is drinking pretty good right now unfortunately I'm hearing about it secondhand.

Bonus points for Grandma if she used the proper glassware.

She used a shaker pint. She's always afraid she is going to somehow break the tulips and chalices so she leaves them on the shelf.

I think it'd be better if she took it to the dome straight from the bottle.

I have a beer fridge and two temp controlled cellars downstairs. I purposely keep beer that I never touch stocked in the kitchen fridge upstairs so my wife's friends get beer from there when I'm not around and don't rummage around the basement looking for beer.

That's a fantastic story, sad for you but overall a positive tale! Grandma sounds awesome!
